Definitely the most popular revolving sushi bar experience and you feel it right away walking in. Get on the wait list ahead of time.

The fish can be hit or miss to be honest. And they super load everything up with rice and you're left wanting more.

If you want the revolving sushi experience this is the best you'll get and worth it just for the novelty. Otherwise try to wait for their coupons to make the experience worth it.

(I like their sawtelle location more)

Super fun experience. A robot brings your drinks while playing music. You order right from the tablet at your table. Great selections and food is yummy!!

The experience is five stars! I went to the Kura Sushi in Osaka Japan and the experience was pretty much identical! The quality was solid and $4 a plate can really add up fast! In the old days, you just stack the plates so you were always kind of aware of how much you were spending but now you slide them down this little hole in the table so my only tip is perhaps stack them instead and then put them down the slide later so that you can track how much you're actually spending if that's a concern. Otherwise, food and the quality was pretty good and the service was prompt when requested.

Very bad restaurant, the food and employees sucks, I ask the city to revoke their license. Be careful to eat there.

Affordable rotating sushi 🤤
Seafood are fresh, but nothing can top the yuzu cheesecake!
Wish it's closer to my home

I’m not sure why I keep giving this location a chance. I’ve been to the Sawtelle location dozens of times and everything has always been perfect. I just recently moved to Glendale, and every time I have been to this Kura location, something extremely disappointing has happened.

The first time I went, I made a reservation for a specific time, but despite that I still needed to wait an additional 40 minutes after checking in. This is not a waitlist situation like the Sawtelle location, this is supposed to be a time slotted reservation. The food was fine but the belts were completely empty and not being replenished. All that was left was edamame and watermelon.

The second time I went, my partner and I both ordered negi toro hand rolls, and they used spoiled fish to make them. They smelled and tasted so bad and sour that we had to say something, but thankfully one of the staff also recognized the issue after smelling the hand roll and was able to remove the items from our table. The staff was puzzled too. By that point, our appetites were spoiled and we had to leave. We both ended up getting sick that evening. That alone probably should have been the last straw, but I loved the Sawtelle location so much that I was willing to forgive it and thought it was just bad luck.

The third time I went, I ordered a tantanmen ramen. I received a miso ramen instead, I thought ‘okay no big deal I’ll let the staff know’. They came over, I explained the situation, and he responded by clicking on the item on the iPad, navigating to the ingredients, and saying “see, the ingredients are exactly what you ordered”. I responded, “yes I know it says that, but this is not tantanmen. I’ve ordered it here before, the broth is supposed to be red. This broth is clear” he responded “I know, confusing, right?” and he walked away. I thought he would re-appear with the correct order or something, but I never saw him for the rest of the meal. I did not eat the ramen in case he came back with a replacement, but he never did. I ended up paying for it anyway and I left.

This location has some serious issues, and it has put a really bad taste in my mouth both literally and figuratively about the whole franchise. I’m not sure I’ll be coming back ever, and it’s a shame because I used to consistently visit the Sawtelle location a few times a month.
