The negative reviews made me skeptical about this place because I was reading them after I had ordered, but I was impressed by how well my experience was. I ordered the combination plate and I thought the portion was reasonable. The man who took my order also prepared it and it was well seasoned and ready in a timely manner. I would come back here again anytime I crave Hawaiian BBQ as its only 5min away from me.

Chicken is good but they serve wayyyy too much rice with the bowl, most rice I’ve ever gotten. Like a pound of rice in a bowl with one piece of chicken and little veggies. The only reason I come here is for the meat.

Stop by for bbq and chicken Katsu during lunch. Food was made fresh to order and was huge portions. We went earlier in the morning and got to enjoy the place to ourselves.

I love Hawaii and it’s people, culture and food. L and L originated in Hawaii and unfortunately went to franchise stores. The places on the Islands are authentic and food plates there taste absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately I can not say the same for this establishment. I lived on Oahu for 10 years.
This place in Brea, California is missing some ingredients. The bbq chicken was overcooked and way too dry. It did not taste anything like I have had before and they give you ginger sauce I assume so you can swallow the chicken jerky. The Oahu places the chicken is flowing with an amazing bbq juicy secretions that seep into the rice and making it taste heavenly.
This place is missing that!
The rice was perfectly cooked and the macaroni salad was okay but not enough mayo I think was missing. The spam musubi cuts were super thin but tasted really good.
Hopefully this feedback will help this place get back on track.

Absolutely terrible experience. The owner was shockingly rude, clearly under the influence of something, and actively tried to provoke physical confrontations with customers — including me. He was the only one running the place, which reeked of that unmistakable dirty-mop smell. The food isn’t worth the stress, the stench, or the risk of dealing with an aggressive, unprofessional owner. Avoid at all costs.
The meal was very good, I always love to get the BBQ mix plate, great spot if your in the area, Highly recommended.

I love L&L. I have tried other Hawaiian BBQ and this one has the perfect seasonings and sauces on ALL their protein, and all the sides complement them. It is my go to meal, and this particular location has such calm vibes. A regular after shopping at homegoods!! Definitely recommend.

Ordered via L&L mobile app, arrived to place, a little dim with a mixture of Bar, eatery feeling, street parking is limited in front of establishment but the parking structure is free for 90 minutes in the vicinity, received the food hot and fresh as expected. Friendly service, will come back to any Hawaiian food related cravings
