Best brewery in LA, maybe even Southern California! Bold statement? Perhaps. But their resident burger truck is makes incredible food, the beer is great and the overall feng shui is dynamite!

The beer itself was good, and I do appreciate the overall aesthetic of the building. The customer service, however, was nonexistent. As soon as we walked up, we greeted them hello and they just stared at us, waiting for us to order and didn’t give us any greeting whatsoever. Then they disregarded us as soon as we paid. Also, the tables upstairs had no customers but were not bussed. For a place that is supposed to be conducive to having a good time, the customer service did quite the opposite.

A brewery that’s a bit off the beaten path and totally worth checking out. Street parking only but we found a spot easily on a Saturday around 5pm. The whole setup is great with indoor and outdoor seating options. The food truck outside had great smash burgers and various loaded fries. The flights of beer are a lot of fun because of the library theme. I love that they have so many hazy IPAs! Really enjoyed this spot and look forward to going back!

I tried both an IPA and a porter. Both were very good. The brewery is located in a Quonset Hut and has a fun, welcoming vibe. Girl pouring the beers was gorgeous but very unfriendly. A food truck parked out front, Bun and Blanket, offered decent food.

This has been by far one of my favorite breweries. I have been here two times and both times have not disappointed. From the beer to the service, you can go wrong. I have only come on Friday nights so I can't speak on how busy it gets on other days but even if it's busy, it still somehow has a relaxing vibe here. I have tried numerous beers here and haven't disliked one yet. The food from the food truck parked outside is worth the trip. The Cali burger along and Birria fries are def hits. I tried their Parmesan chicken sandwich and it was delicious. They seem to allow dogs as I saw dogs this past Friday. I love how they have seating both downstairs and upstairs. Will continue to come back to this place.

Questions: Do you like beer? Yes? Do you like amazing smash burgers? Yes? Do you like seeing friendly doggos at a brewery? Yes? If so, Paperback is the brewery for you! I've been going there for the past year and a half, ever since I moved from Seattle. I almost always sit at the bar because IF you like talking to people, their bartenders are all just good people who enjoy a good conversation (at least when they're not slammed and need to be pouring beers). Paperback is one of the few breweries I've frequented where I consistently change up my beer of choice. Part of this is because the brewers at Paperback are constantly coming out with new beers, but the other part is that their beers are just consistently good regardless of the style. Trivia Night (I think on Wednesday) is a lot of fun and the space upstairs is really cool with a nice bar table shuffleboard set up. They also have a small patio with Cornhole set up and you can grab bags or shuffleboard discs from the bartenders upon arrival at no cost. I genuinely appreciate having found a "neighborhood brewery" that is this good as quickly as I did when moving to LA and always look forward to stopping by for a pint.

I have had their brews many times in cans with all kinds of crazy sci-fi and comic labels. First visit to the brewery. An interesting and comfortable place. Friendly staff and good beer.

Great atmosphere for family and friends! The staff are friendly and the food and drinks are top shelf. I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun evening.

Openers: Catchy beer names, vending machines with Bunny+ chainsaw stickers*, super fab seating, dogs allowed indoors, and a food truck that has great munchies. (*bring your own quarters!) Bookended on my trip to New Zealand, we stayed right around the bend from PB and stopped here twice. There are many, many places to have a beer in LA, but why mess with a good thing? Lots of rotating beer selections of all types, and a wicked cool atmosphere. You feel like you are in a "thing" without needing to be a local to fit in.

Came to a party at Paperback Brewing in the upstairs area. Really enjoyed the idea of the place. The good - cool interior and really interesting website. Looks like a place you can hang out in. The bad - service, service, service... Lackluster service will tank any business. Being that it was our first time there, we found the bartender and waitress to be less than welcoming. First of all, the website has all these graphic designs of cans with different beers. You see none of that when you arrive. They only have a few of the many beers advertised online Nothing comes in the cool cans you see on the website. Everything is dispensed from the few indiscriminate taps lining the wall. There are no real descriptions of the beers and no real assistance from anyone who works there, so it is clear the employees do not enjoy working there. It's such a shame because this place has a lot of potential that it will not live up to. This is not going to be that neighborhood bar where everyone is relaxed and knows your name. Looks good but no substance.

This is a tucked away brewery spot located in Glendale- borderline Burbank, possibly considered LA already...anywho I was able to find a parking spot around the corner and just walked a short distance to it. There is a food truck parked outside the location so that's a plus! It's pretty chill inside, small space but they also have front patio space(however, today is chilly) Cool vibe music playing in the background And I decided to sit at the bar, I came alone of course! Service- I didn't feel welcomed, the girl who served me was just starring at me the whole time which made me feel a bit uncomfortable, and the other dude was just there too. They didn't seem too cheerful to be serving beer. Whatever been to golden road down the street with much superb attitude from their staff members. I decided to go with their flight, so I can sample a few of their selections, so that worked out for me. The flight is 5 flavors served on the wooden tray, I got a mixture of hoppy beers selection: west coast IPA vs. hazy IPA groups, (see image of my selection on the images) I liked all of them, they all had their own unique tastes but delicious! I recommend this brewery for sure to come and chill out for bit with a refreshing beer!

The two star review is not a reflection of the product. I actually like the beer very much. I hadn't tried the full menu of beers and stuck to the ales and IPA beers since I don't like sour beers or wheat beers. And last month this would have been a five star review. Now it's a generous two stars because of policy. This business now does not accept cash, and I do dot patronize ANY business that does not accept cash. Not accepting cash is a form of discrimination, and is a blatant affront to consumers who choose to spend in a more ethical manner. Not everyone can participate in the credit/debit system. Immigrants, the formerly incarcerated, and a host of other demographic groups within our population cannot participate. Not accepting cash is tantamount to discrimination against these people. Some of us, like myself, are so absolutely mad at the banking industry for all of the terrible things that they have and continue to do that I don't want to be a part of it. I use a credit union. My wife and I have a home loan/mortgage through the University of California. I don't use credit cards other than the debit/credit card with my credit union that I am only eligible to be a part of as a member of the AFM. And I don't want the banking industry to make one freaking nickel off of any of my earning and spending. I run a small business that accepts cash checks and PayPal. No credit cards, and never will. When you spend using credit/debit cards, you enable the banking industry unless you are part of a credit union. I understand that cash is a pain for some businesses, and that there is a risk of robbery. That's what making a cash drop into a wall or floor safe is for. However, neither of these concerns is an excuse to participate in discrimination. There is a possibility that the Los Angeles city council will ban cashless businesses as they have in New York and San Francisco. Unfortunately this business is outside of the city of Los Angeles (Glendale is a separate municipality). And I doubt Glendale would consider such legislation. It's too bad because I do like all of the other things about Paperback Brewery. But the no cash policy is a deal breaker I'm afraid. If they do return to accepting cash and cease participating in a discriminatory practice I'll be happy to go back and enjoy their beer. And the burger truck outside is pretty happening too. Probably the best burger truck in town, and it smokes most restaurant fare as well. Fortunately the Glendale Tap nearby continues to accept cash last I checked.
