I have been going to Pecos Bills for 59 years . I used to live on the street right behind the restaurant (Garden Street ) The food here is just amazing . The flavors are very specific . Nothing else, no where else, is as good as this place . It is comforting for me to go to a place that doesnt change . The owners do a service greater than just making wonderful food . In A way they reassure us that care and quality dont have to change at least not on their watch . So many places I remember around there are gone now . Zups a fast food place across the street ..Dicks automotive repair shop .The Arrow Market . All just faded memories . It is reassuring to me when ever I visit my old stomping grounds that Pecos is still open and still making just fantastic food . I remember once about 1964 or so they had a fire there and the place closed for a long time . My entire family rejoiced when it reopened . Running a restaurant is tedious hard work . Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your labor and commitment to quality has not gone unnoticed . LONG LIVE PECOS BILLS !!!!

I love the food and the folks there but don't understand the business strategy. They're basically open whenever they feel like it. Been closed for like a month now, how does that make any sense. The place has the most limited business hours, at least commit to actually being open during those times. Otherwise expect your most loyal customers to be annoyed and utterly disappointed. I hope the owner sells it to somebody that cares about customers and reliability. Why not sell a majority stake to somebody who will operate it and keep longer hours. The owner can just collect and do nothing... please sell the place.

Pecos Bill's is the only thing Huell Houser ever missed on California's Gold. The sandwiches should be in the BBQ Hall of Fame. I've eaten hundreds of them. My Wife Lynette had to have one after she gave birth. God rest her soul... At the age of 70 and selling high end guitars, I'm going to Glendale to do so tomorrow. Guess where I'm going. To the corner of Victory and Winchester. That's where.. Pecos Bill's totally rawx..!I sold the Glendale News Press standing at the island on Victory and Sonora when I was about 12-13. That's nealr 60 years ago. I can't wait.

This guy won't even get out his bed to bbq cuz it's too hot, when he's only open 3 days of the week.

Been there for over 75 years. CASH only. One pulled pork sandwich is not enough if you're a big eater. Grab at least two sandwiches. It's lighter that your typical pulled pork sandwich. Ask for extra sauce or their spicy sauce. Order some baked beans and coleslaw and add it to your sandwich. Order their seasonal fresh lemonade.

Disappointed. The sandwiches were salty yet lacked flavor, watery, mushy. A sauce would help a lot. This is the same pulled pork sandwiches I make from the crock pot, just throw it in and add sauce. Maybe they drained the sauce. It didn't seem to have any bbq essence at all or chunks of meat. It wouldn't be so bad, but for $8 each, it was a bit steep for the quality. The owners were very friendly and appreciative of the business. I just recall it being better when I visited way back when. The cole slaw was okay. They were out of the beans. I generally prefer to support local businesses, esp. if they've been around a long time, but they should taste their food before serving.

This is the kind of place you make a special drive every time in town to stop here -. Its a Rare gem of a place ... this is a generational eating place for decades. Before Yelp- only locals would have known about this cult favorite bbq. My parents took me here 40 years ago when I was a kid - and I have raised ny kids coming. The kind of place you would bring your out of town visitors to get a taste of LA vibes. the kind of place when you think about it - your mouth starts to water. Then when you get there - it's better than you remember. This is NOT your typical BBQ - don't go here expecting Wood Ranch or the liquid smoke flavored meats drenched in a store bottle bbq sauce. This is a family run place that welcomes you with a family feel from bygone times where the menu is simple and the service is quick and the food is the same every time you come. The messy underwhelming sauce is actually the secret sauce - it's not that tangy typical bbq sauce. It's strength is that the sauce is soooo subtle and yet addictive .., the flavor is IN the actual natural meat - the sauce just moistens the bun and meat. Any of the meats on the soft hamburger bun are delicious. I love the way the buns starts to softly fall apart as you eat the sandwich. But get lots of napkins ... you will need them. They can run out of meats towards the end of the day. My kids have grown up coming here and now as adults - they continue to go. You will often find local studio people eating here ... this place is unique and embrace that it is not a BBQ you likely have experienced before - but once you do ... you will find yourself wanting more. My kids would ask for a side of their sauce so they could douse it on their own sandwiches at home ti keep experiencing a bit of Pecos Bill's after getting back home. The homemade lemonade too! It's the best cheap eats in the area. You may even run into a celebrity. Thank you Pecos Bill's for staying in business so we can continue to enjoy your family traditions in our tummies!

Best BBQ anywhere. I’ve been going to Pecos Bill’s since I was a kid. The food still taste the same, very delicious. Great barbecue.

Awesome couple runs this lil spot! It's sooooo good. My fav: pork sandwich! I get coleslaw (try and add it at home to the sandwich!) And the beans are awesome. Great REAL lemon lemonade Arnold palmers ..... sooooooo gooood. Love it and will gratefully say, get two if your hungry!! Don't wait til closing time: if they sell out, CLOSED!

A friend brought me here for the first time a few weeks ago. She has always talked about how much she loves this place so I had high hopes. First thing I noticed is that the two people working were not whereing gloves or masks which really bothered me. I've worked in food service and it was never ok for us to take someone's cash and then go touch food. I decided to give this place a chance. It was ok. The flavor of the shredded beef was decent but way too messy. We got our food and ate it right then and just in the few minutes my sandwich was in the bag to get to the car it was getting quite soggy. Dont plan to take the food to go because it will be way too soggy by the time you get home. Like previous reviews have said, I think this place survives on the nostalgia factor because there are much better BBQ places out there.
