This unassuming restaurant has earned a loyal following, with fans praising its simple yet exceptional cuisine.
The restaurant provides incredible ginger that is refilled throughout the meal, as well as freshly grated, sweet, and fluffy wasabi. Favorites include the sweet shrimp, the uni served with Hokkaido and Santa Barbara side by side, the halibut, and the red snapper, but the entire menu is very, very good. The restaurant reminds guests that there are no special rolls or California rolls, which is exactly what true sushi lovers want.
Guests never have to wait for a table, and the service is direct and courteous. The couple who owns the restaurant are helpful and prepare the food quickly. The seating is very homelike and cozy, and the Omakase is not a set menu - guests can simply eat what's good until they're full. The restaurant accommodates people's allergies and preferences, but it's recommended to just eat it all if there are no allergies, as the food is delicious.
