Glendale is lucky to have such an incredible Chef and restaurant. It's honestly like stepping into a high end Ginza restaurant in Tokyo, but right here in LA.
Well prepared and delicious! Friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Highly recommend for high quality sushi and sashimi.
What a wonderful place! On the pricier side, but definitely worth it. My friend and I went for the Omakase meal and it was an exceptional experience. The service was fast and great, and the food was delicious and authentic. You can tell the people working care about their craft. They were generous and nice to us. Would definitely come again!
5 Star Dining Experience and Freshest of Sashami. Great Value on the Happy Hour Menu!
I’m not used to “upscale sushi” or I guess authentic really. The place really caught me off guard by how nice it was and how impeccable the service is from start to finish. They give you a little warmed wet towel to clean your hands when you walk in, it was a nice touch.
I cannot stress how much the happy hour menu made it easy for me. It was a very fair price for what I received and was extremely filling, I got a plate of sashimi to start, 7 sushi pieces, a crab hand roll, oysters and mussels, and a Sapporo beer to wash it down. Everything was delicious and high quality.
Although a little hard to find and nestled between a loud Olive Garden, it was such a nice hidden surprise, would definitely go back to support more!
I love to come to this restaurant every time! Food is always tastes good, chef is always kind and good dude!!
My second time omakase at Sasabune. I’ve tried multiple locations or other restaurants, but one in Glendale is the best. The location is hard to find, but if you direct to California Pizza Kitchen, they are right next to it.
We’ve ordered Japanese omakase and it was phenomenal experience. More than enough and fresh sushi and sashimi.
It’s as good as you eating sushi in Japan! It reminded us of sushi in Tsukiji in Japan. We’ll definitely come back again!!
I went to this place for my wife’s birthday. The serve was really attentive and the chef’s hand roll towards the end was truly amazing!
It was truly a hidden gem! Our first time omakase experience, they made it unforgettable. We tend to only get Salmon, Yellowtail, or any basic fish, but Omakase covers them all and some fish that I have never tried. I will definitely come back:)
Food was fresh and aesthetically pleasing We ordered several sashimi plates and were very pleased with the over quantity and service. Highly recommend the scallop plate and their delicious hand rolls. Chef came to table and made each rolls!
First time trying this place! Over all, this place has the best sushi ever we had. The sushi was melting your mouth and very tasty also it is very simple and no extra seasoning on top. You don't need to put soy sauce!!! The atmosphere was amazing as well! Me and my wife loved this place and definitely will come back!!!

My husband and I had the omakase dinner and absolutely loved it. Every piece was fresh and beautifully prepared, but the baby tuna was the standout — so buttery and flavorful! We left happy and can't wait to come back.
We visited on a Saturday night. It wasn't packed, but I still highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time just in case. They have both an omakase menu and an a la carte menu. We ordered their baby tuna and it was super fatty and juicy. Fun fact, they actually use real charcoal before serving, so it has a little smoky flavor! All the fish was really good, but our server recommended the sea perch and it was incredible. I wasn't expecting something like that. I also loved how everything was already seasoned perfectly, so I didn't even need soy sauce. Their anago (sea eel) was amazing too. We usually end our meal with unagi, but the anago was so fluffy and sweet that it totally won me over. We're definitely coming back again to try their omakase next time!!
We visited on a busy Saturday night and had a fantastic experience. We sat at the bar and ordered the Omakase, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The chef took the time to explain each course and share details about the origin of the fish, which made the meal feel even more special. Every dish was fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and we enjoyed every bite. The service was also outstanding. Our server was attentive and made sure our water glasses were always full. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that we would definitely recommend.
Nice atmosphere, kind of hidden location on the 2nd floor. You can find it next to CPK and they'll validate parking too. Came here for a business meeting and my clients and I enjoyed the Premium course very much. Chef Gen was very professional and attentive with the timing of our dishes. Servers did a great job explaining each dish as well. Thanks again for a great night!
It’s the best sushi I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot in my life. An absolute gem for anyone who can appreciate it. I’d say Michelin quality.
