recently visited this shaurma spot and honestly, the interior is amazing — super cozy, stylish, and has a whole vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. It definitely feels like more than just a quick food stop.

I tried the chicken shawarma. While the flavor was okay, I wasn’t too happy with the chicken — it wasn’t grilled properly, and the wrap felt a bit unbalanced with too much lavash and not enough ingredients inside.

That being said, I still recommend checking this place out. The experience itself is worth it, and with such a nice atmosphere, I really hope this business grows and stands strong. It’s definitely a spot I want to see succeed, and maybe with a few tweaks to the food, it can become a favorite!

Really cute spot in downtown Glendale. We came specifically for the zhengalov hatz because I had it before in Las Vegas and have been hankering for them ever since. I liked the one here (even though it was slightly different from the one in LV) but it needed a touch more salt, and perhaps, a lemon wedge served along side would be awesome. Overall, a good experience especially if you're craving one.

My favorite type of restaurant. The menu is short and sweet, meaning that have perfected their craft and it makes your selection easy. The Zhengyalov Hatz is a must try, so fresh and light and satisfying. The pork shawarma was a bit dry, but tasted good. The interior was beautifully decorated in traditional Armenian decor. Staff are polite and food comes out fast.

Hard to pronounce, uniquely delicious. Pretty much everything on the menu that involves bread is baked to order.

This place was a whole vibe… a travel experience. The traditional Flat bread with 7 different herbs was great, I just wish we had a dip or condiment to pair it with. Beautiful baklava and loved the open kitchen view to the ladies making the flat bead.

I like the zhenghalov hatz. Very simple, salty and simultaneously fresh tasting. Must drink an Ayran on the side to complete the meal.

I recently swung by Zhengyalov Hatz on Broadway in Glendale and was blown away by their herb-packed flatbread. It’s like a savory, chewy embrace of at least a dozen greens—spinach, beet leaves, scallions—all wrapped in pillowy dough and grilled to perfection . Watching the bakers hand-stuff each piece right there behind the counter adds such charm and authenticity ().

The atmosphere is clean, cozy, and relaxed—no fuss, just good food . The herb flatbread hits that sweet spot between light and hearty; one was enough for a solid snack, but two felt like a proper meal . Plus, the pakhlava dessert and tangy yogurt drink are great finishing touches .

Why not five stars? The menu is small, so if you’re with someone craving variety, this might feel limiting. And the herby intensity—while addictive—might be too much for folks not used to bold, green flavors (cilantro skeptics, beware) .

Final verdict: Fresh, honest, and delicious—perfect if you love greens and simple, soulful eats. Just don’t expect a full-blown menu or mild flavors, and you’ll love it.

This food is supposed to be stuffed with a variety of greens, but.when we got it, there was only one kind of tasteless dry baby dill inside. Total disappointment! I’ll never buy it from them again.

I Really wanted to like it but it was a severe let down. The food was gross. The hatz are ok but the shawarma were absolutely disgusting. The meat is dry as a rock and the sauce they smother all over it tastes like liek ketchup and mayo. I dont know if all these reviews are bots but there are tons of good shawarmas in burb and glendale and this has to be the worst.
