Food was amazing! Tried the chefs combo(turns out the chef I had was also the owner) to which every piece of sushi had a good portion of their choice on top. Miso soup was good and tried their double salmon roll special. Very flavorful and good portion on the inside and out. Place inside is small but doesnt feel cramped, servers and chef are hospitable and ambiance is calm. Great for a date or even just to relax. Definitely returning!

Came in on a Monday and the vibe was very calm. Server was attentive and quick to bring out food. Food tastes great all the way down to the miso soup. I got the chirashi and my partner got the bento box and we enjoyed the quality of the fish. Will definitely be coming back when around the area again

Sushi Umi is a small sushi restaurant with a lot of heart, and a lot of great food. The prices are just right, and the quality is amazing. I will most definitely be back.

I don’t usually leave reviews unless the experience was exceptional, which it was! Dined in today with a friend and we both got the bentos (she got salmon with side of cucumber roll and california roll and I got beef with side of gyoza and veggie tempura). Both tasted excellent and we loved the sides. The whole meal being less than $25 was fantastic and such a great value and the service was perfect with the wait staff being super attentive and quick. Having been to Japan before, it’s hard to find a comparable satisfactory Japanese resteraunt imo even here in SoCal, and finding this place on a whim, it did not disappoint. I live about an hour away but I will definitely be coming back and recommending!! (Oh and forgot to mention the place has a beautiful decoration and very clean, we even noticed the single-use chopsticks were of better quality than the usual hole-in-the wall. It’s all in the details!!)

An unassuming hole-in-the-strip-mall sushi and ramen place with friendly welcoming staff and very talented chefs. It looks like a dive from the outside but inside is a romantic little hideaway with big beautiful rolls and they don't skimp on quality. Loved the spider and the OMG rolls but the real star was the super dragon roll. Amazing work guys I'll be back.
