The Golden Spur

My visit was on 1/2/2018, so this review was from quite a bit ago. First we can start with the decor, which I can describe as Disneyland cartoonish, but not nearly as spotless. Sitting down, our party was offered bread, and a ton of it. RIP Golden Spur. Saturday, October 13, 2018 I will miss you. One of the last traditional restaurants in Southern California on historic Route 66. They had great food, great entertainment and I have some fantastic memories. So glad I stopped by Friday afternoon one last time to have a beer before they shut down. Rumor has it they want to build condos. Completely unacceptable!! I sure hope that's a false rumor. Condos are the LAST THING that should ever be built on that property....read full review

We were very sad yesterday when our hostess told us after seating us that the restaurant will be closing on Saturday after service. The Spur is one of the few "pony" restaurants here in So. CA. We will miss the staff, many of whom we have known a long time.
