The crappiest HALF-FAT BRISQUET served a la carte to go..retaurant had only had 2 people dining in... 7/30/25.

You people have some nerve sending that out..

waited 2 years to give you another chance..NEVER AGAIN. Order your food without them smothering it in sauce and see what you get. <---Texan who knows

Not horrible, decent portions. Chili beans were very bland and the macaroni salad wasn't great. Pork ribs were ok, but came with sauce on them after asking for sauce on the side.

A delayed review, however still fabulous.
We use this Goodland BBQ to cater my son‘s UC Santa Barbara, graduation event. In a nutshell… Amazing! The food was absolutely fantastic. Couldn’t have been better. The planning process was seamless. They met to every request and went above and beyond. Guests are still raving about the food weeks later. The young man who delivered the food could not have been more polite and professional. I have lived in the south and this is some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Out of five stars I give them six. If you’re looking for a place to dine in or have catered delivery, I highly recommend Goodland barbecue. Thank you to Goodland and your entire staff.

I stopped in here after passing by many times. Was looking forward to some great bbq but was rather disappointed. When I came in during peak lunch hour there was not a single other customer in sight and none came while i was there, which is never a good sign in my book. I ordered the tri tip and brisket with potato salad and beans. I got the food for takeout which might have been my first mistake. When i got home and opened my to go box i felt like I was being pranked. The portion of food i received for 30 dollars was simply pitiful. The tri tip was rather dry and tough, seemed like it was old or had been sitting under a heat lamp for god knows how long. The brisket was not bad at all. Tender and juicy, with the correct texture. Yet the slices i recieved of brisket were so grossly thick they were practically two giant chunks of meat. In my bbq experience brisket should be thinly sliced not some thick chunk of meat. The french bread was dry and useless. The sides were not bad I did enjoy the potato salad and had no complaints on the beans. The bbq sauce to accompany the meal was rather underwhelming as well. It was overly sweetened almost like candy with only some vague hints of vinegar and smoke flavor. On the pictures posted it looks like other customers have received much healthier portion sizes who ate in person so maybe the workers just knew they could scam me because i wouldn't check inside the box. Although this place does have some redeeming qualities, if you are in search of good bbq in Goleta your much better off going to shaloobs, a mile or two down the street off holister. They have a much more complex menu with beautifully done meets and truly breathtaking sandwhiches. Plus a much better atmosphere for families and just for hanging around. I would not waste my money here giving it a second try and overall left with the taste of dissapointment in my mouth being that I had wanted to try this place for a few weeks

On a road trip. This place is walking distance from our hotel so we decided to try it and we’re glad we did. The pork ribs were large and meaty. The tri-tip was tender enough to cut with a plastic knife. The coleslaw was the best of the sides ( not too wet). Good meal for a good price.

First time at Goodland BBQ on a Saturday afternoon, unfortunately they were out of ribs already. Prices are fair, relatively inexpensive with a healthy portion to accompany it. Regrettably the food was at best adequate, brisket was tough and dry, tri tip was okay, a little chewy, pulled pork was a little too fatty/greasy for my taste. Chili beans were underwhelming quite soupy and plain, the potato salad was okay and our corn bread was dry, old and plain. Service was good and staff was friendly, there's arcade games you may play and board games making it family friendly.

The true test of BBQ is the tenderness and juice level of the smoked brisket. It should be very juicy (rendered fat) and nearly fall apart when picked up to eat. Sadly, their brisket was neither of those. Their cook should take Aaron Franklin's master class course online as they make the best brisket in the country. I like the owner and I'm sure overall they are a 5-stars.

Passing by on the way home to Murrieta. Found this gem on maps and it did NOT disappoint. It was a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy so service was fast and the food was hot! As we waited my daughter and I played table air hockey provided by the restaurant. Thank you for the great service and delicious food.

Don't forget to ask for honey for the sweet potato fries. Yum.
