This is an absolute gem. It absolutely exceeded my expectations in terms by a long shot. I’ve spent time in India and it is so rare that you find extremely authentic food in the US. Everything out of the tandoor is phenomenal - naan, chicken, etc. The South Indian and Sri Lankan specialties are fantastic. All the basics were really good as well like samosa and daal. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The food was great, but was overpriced. We got the lamb tikka masala and paneer kahdi. Both were delicious but we were surprised when rice was a separate order. We expected that with each dish being about $20, rice would be included. Don’t be surprised when it’s not. The naan portions were also smaller than expected (I’m used to getting naan the size of my head), and it was a little tougher than other naan I’ve had.Service and atmosphere are decent, but nothing special.

Our favorite Indian restaurant in the Santa Barbara area. Our favorite is the weekend buffet as they make fresh dosas often. I can’t speak to the meat dishes but their vegetarian dishes are authentic. The staff is attentive and provides good service. The atmosphere is a great for kids. Their samosas are really good.Vegetarian options: Love their Kadai paneer.Kid-friendliness: Very friendly to kids, they have booths that can easily seat a family of 4 without the need for a kids chair even.

Quite late in writing this review but finally got around toWe visited here in June 2023 when we were driving the Pacific Coast Highway from San Fran to San Diego. After a week of non-endian food, we were craving for some Indian food so decided on Masala Spice as it seemed to have Sri Lankan food and some different items than regular North Indian restaurantsFood - We were 5 of us so ordered Tandoori Artichoke Hearts, Paid Chaat, Sri Lankan Cashew Curry, Sri Lankan Moju , Dal Makhni, Paratha/Naan and lassi. Couple of the items were good but food was not as good as I expected base on the reviewsService - friendly staff but not very engaging or keen to help in selecting or recommending items to eat.Ambiance - has inside and outside seating. regular ambiance .Overall Ok place and did not meet my high expectations based on reviews
