They said there was nothing on their menu that was gluten free which I doubt was true, but they were certainly unwilling to accommodate anyone with a gluten free preference. Definitely will not go back.

A simple tofu salad: fresh lettuce, a mound of soft tofu, and oodles of rich sesame dressing. Yum!

Relatively inexpensive sushi, also has classic teriyaki and bulgogi. Food is what you'd expect, good but not great. Cut above fast food sushi places. They did a nice salmon skin role... by request.

The service was honestly worth noting. The young girl who served us was quick and getting after it! No hesitation to serve. And she served with care and attention. Besides her, you noticed the other staff were really trying to do their job well. Great staff and good food ?

We waited 30 mins for two simple rolls and edamame and watched plenty of other tables who came after us be served before us. When we finally asked where our food was, we were given the wrong order! In addition, the rolls themselves were not particularly tasty. Certainly not worth the wait. Will not be returning, money terribly spent.

Honestly I'm not sure what the people in the reviews are complaining about. For a order at the counter spot I was extremely happy with the food quality and the price point. The gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful when answering the questions I had and my food came out promptly. If you're looking for a sit down, dinner type of restaurant I would say you're looking at the wrong place but all and all I'll definitely be coming back. Two rolls, a salad and a drink for under 30 dollars is super affordable and it tasted great!

Came in here because our little one was craving sushi , we stopped by ahi sushi because we found it on maps it was our first and last time going there. They took over 30 min to do 1 California roll and a teriyaki combo absolutely absurd, quality is ok , prices aren’t bad, but if your looking for a better service Los agaves and mesa burger have much faster service and are right next door even when busy, especially if your little ones are hungry and don’t like to wait so long. Definitely not worth the long wait !

Hopefully, the food is good tonight. They seem to be understaffed. I love when restaurants are busy... but I've been waiting for quite awhile. It is an absolutely beautiful night here, but I might need to go get my food. I had to go get my wine. Isn't that a light pour for $7? Why did I tip 20% when I had to order at the counter?!All in all the food was good. Not sure $29 dollars good.

Horrible experience! Took over an hour to receive food. There were items from our takeout order missing. Would not recommend! Food isn't great either. The rolls completely fall apart when you pick them up. I know it's a convenient place but literally go anywhere else....plus they leave their phone off the hook so you can't get ahold of them.

Ordered delivery, only found out when it arrived that a la carte sushi is $8 for only two pieces, insanely overpriced. Food tasted fine, but assuming you don't want to end up hungry, go or order somewhere else, like Sushiya in Isla Vista.

I haven't been here in a while but it is a convenient spot when nothing is open or craving OK Japanese food. I don't know what is wrong with their staff though. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl but they were takeout only, 9 pm No problem. When I asked for a to go cup for water, though, they handed me a small, lidless clear cup. When I asked for a normal to gp cup that I could actually use in the car ( I have a long drive), the cashier shook her head vehemenltly lime I was about to rob the register. I said, you are to-go only so why won't you give me a to-gp cup? You can watch me fill it up if u r that worried about me stealing diet coke.Like, there were literally two staff people staring at me not more than 5 feet from me. LOL.Still she shook her head like a total weirdo. So I cancelled my order and had them refund my money. Not gonna pay someone for food when they won't give me water. WTF
