Although they do offer vegan menu options, be advised to clarify that you are indeed getting a vegan meal when placing your order. I ordered their "VEGAN" pastrami sandwich not realizing that they use real cheese in their "VEGAN" sandwiches unless you specify that you want an ACTUAL VEGAN sandwich. I was a few bites in before I realized the cheese tasted rather bovine-esque. So I took my sandwich back to the counter and asked if it was vegan cheese. I was told it was not, and that I needed to order the vegan cheese option while ordering the "VEGAN PASTRAMI" sandwich. Like, what?!?! I'm extremely lactose intolerant. I'm going to be regretting having those few bites of sandwich for the next few days. They were apologetic and offered to make me a new sandwich. Doubt I'll be able to stomach it now, because my stomach will be doing cartwheels for days. Vegans beware!!

The nutburger was very crispy, almost like a fried chicken batter consistency. It's a nice change from moister, chunkier nut burgers, so set expectations right. There are many sandwich options with tofu, tempeh, and commercial veg burger patties, plus Veganaise, vegan "honey mustard", and even Violife cheese! Vegan options are labeled AND anything vegetarian can be made vegan. Homemade cookies are vegan (chocolate chip OR peanut butter oatmeal). One of the owners is vegan! So they are super friendly and knowledgeable.

I met a friend today for lunch at the Afternoon Deli up in Grass Valley and I was very impressed with the quality of the food and service. The person at the counter was very friendly, the food was served quickly and hot, and my cheesesteak sandwich was very tasty! The price is very reasonable. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other items on their menu!

The cheapest lunch in town. They have a lot of vegatarian options and just a lot of options. Under $10 for a sandwhich and fries. Their meat is all natural and they have beer if you like to tie one on with lunch, as they close at three. The guy who works the register is on it. The owner's got lucky with this guy.

The "gyro" I ordered was a turkey burger patty cut up with a spoon. I will definitely go to MeZe next time. The owner was griping about parking lot being full of target customers and lost his temper. Not a good look.
