Service was awesome, the food was barely edible, reminded me of stale leftovers, burnt orange chicken, day old Rangoons

I'm revisiting this restaurant after several years again. This is my 3rd time ordering take out. I love the entrees, & soup so far. Tonight my to go Po Po? platter, and side egg rolls are not 5 star! The pork ribs were replaced with bite size pieces of dry, chewy pork, & the egg rolls are so greasy my dining partner had to bolt or the bathroom after consuming :( . I'll give them another try though or order other things I'm the future.

Believe the bad reviews! This is my second time here. Once today and once about a year ago. Last time the service was some of the worst I've ever had. Unfriendly, and never came to check on us. We had to flag them down for everything and that's not, including about a 15 to 20 minute wait for them to take our order and get water in the first place. Today was a lot quicker. The server was OK but also never came to check on us. But the worst part is the food. We thought we'd give it a second try as the first time the food was mid the first time. Today it was absolutely disgusting. We barely ate any of it and I personally felt slightly sick from the food. I'm not claiming food poisoning, it just did not sit well with me. We got Mushu pork, which just tasted off with dry more like tortillas to roll the Mushu in. We also got the general chicken, which was absolutely disgusting. It tasted off, and the sauce was icky, soggy, and was full of cartilage and other chunks of stuff. My son who is not a picky eater was disgusted by the chicken and did not want to eat it. In my entire life of eating out I've never not taken leftovers with me and we left two almost full plates of food behind. The way the place looks as far as dining experiences. Nothing to write home about. But again the food was so disgusting will never be back.

We visited a week ago, and the food is not nearly as good as it used to be. We were very disappointed in the Mongolian Beef (lacked the full flavor and kick it used to have) and the Chow Mein was mushy & bland and had a strange, offputting spice in it. General's Chicken was close to what it used to be, but not quite. Please bring the old recipes & ingredients back! Aldo, no music was playing so it was eerily quiet. We told our server the same thing.

Haven't had Asian garden in a while, went in, and there are new owners, I guess. The service was slow, they were friendly. That's about the only good thing. The smell in the restaurant was not good. Ordered crab cheese puffs and it literally tasted like tapioca pudding, stuffed into a fried pastry, absolutely gross and watery. The soup was thick and flavorless and it was hot and sour soup. There was no hot or sour. I won't be going there ever again. Didn't even eat the soup or the puffs just ended up leaving and canceling the rest of the order. I would love to see that place succeed it's been there forever. Looks like the only good Chinese food place left in Nevada county is Fred's!

I have been coming here for decades. Sadly we won't be returning. The new ownership has started to mess with the recipes. They have added mushrooms to the broccoli beef, they have removed the yummy sauce from the top of the noodle soup and the chowmein is flavorless and mushy. These people get handed a thriving business and they throw it away for profits. Wonderful III was the exact same way except they ran that down in a matter of months. Maybe they will see the reviews and turn it around.

We ordered moo-hsu pork, combo chow mein, Szechuan chicken and bbq pork bao. Mostly inedible, because the flavors just weren't right. Awful is a better word. We hadn't eaten there for a few years but a neighbor said that they had gotten better like they had a new chef or something. Apparently not true. We were looking for some good Chinese food close to where we live, so we thought we would give them another chance. Big mistake I am throwing away their takeout menu. I spent $60 on garbage and never will again. Whoever reviewed their food favorably does not know Chinese food at all.

Like others have said my recent experience was not good relative to previous visits (I've only ordered takeout). My go to dish is Mongolian Beef. This time the meat was tough. My other dish was garlic chicken which had little "bits" of 'chicken' in it, no white meat chunks to be found. The on-line ordering system wasn't working right (didn't confirm my order, or when it would be ready so I guessed.). Unfortunately, I guessed wrong as my to go order wasn't that warm, and the containers were falling apart. I've never had a paper Chinese food container "blow up" before. Fortunately the chicken split open on my counter and not the floor. Post Covid, there's no excuse for a restaurant to not have excellent to go packaging. This was very disappointing @ $35 for two dishes and steamed rice for 1. Asian Gardens needs to step up their game. I'm not going back unless I read consistently positive new reviews.
