They couldn’t cook a steak to order if they like depended on it. I’ve had the burger there twice and every time they overcook it the atmosphere feels worn down and old. The redeeming qualities is amazing service

First time at Diego’s and we’ll definitely be back. Great food, chill atmosphere, and a super welcoming spot for kids and dogs. Loved the outdoor seating and how relaxed everything felt—no stress, just good eats. Staff was friendly and patient, which always matters when you’ve got kids with you. Awesome local find in Grass Valley.

The food was terrible. I want to give a rating of zero but 1 star is the lowest I can go. We waited over a hour and then they finally gave us a table in the back room where everything was super crammed together and you barely have enough room. While we waited for our food the server came by and asked if we wanted the check and at the point we hadnt gotten our food yet. We waited almost a hour for our food and we were about to leave but then the waitress said it would be 2 more minutes so we waited and then we got our food. The portion sizes were small even with the side of rice which looked like they just through it on a plat. The bell peppers were pretty much raw to the point you had to cut them with a steak knife. Then when we finally got the bill they had some drinks on there that wasn't even ours. I would not recommend eating there at any cost!

Mediocre at best. Very good service, but for the price, the food is barely okay and not authentic Mexican. 3 meals with one beer and one iced tea was over $100. I do not like leaving less than complimentary reviews and I rarely ever leave a review, but I would appreciate a heads up before I dropped my hard earned money on a disappointing meal.
What a beautiful hidden gem.
Greatl service. Great food. Came in for lunch and had so many great choices.
Will come back again. Highly recommend.

First time trying out this local legend of a restaurant but certainly not the last! We took a chance showing up without a reservation but got seated straight off. The hostess was fun and friendly with a great sense of humor and understood our vibe right away. The fun started with speedy delivery of beverages and delicious bread made right on site, and Quinn, our server, knew the menu inside and out and helped us make good decisions. My swordfish was cooked perfectly and was tender and delicious. My brother’s stuffed poblano was spicy and on point. The place has a comfortable and quirky atmosphere. The whole experience was fun and affordable and I plan to become a regular customer starting right now!

I will never return to this restaurant. Waited 45 minutes to be sat. There was an open table the entire time. Apparently too big for two people. We waited because the food smelled good and wanted to try something new.
Was told after another 15 minutes that the “bread was in the oven, sorry”. Started to worry when the next table got bread since they had been seated close to when we arrived. Staff was nice enough but struggled desperately to serve less than 30 people. When they couldn’t get the neighboring table bill correct, I knew the chances of seeing food within 30 minutes was unlikely. After exactly 1 hour I paid for our drink and left.
Walked to our car, drove to another restaurant finished eating within 20 minutes. Including desert. I will never return. Lost a local customer for life.
Chill place.
