Went to this place once. Got asked if we had a reservation. We did not. The counter gal said she would see if the "chef" could accommodate us. There was absolutely NO ONE in the restaurant. She spoke to the guy in the kitchen, and he agreed to make a pie for us.Me and my husband both got the worst heartburn of our lives after eating there. Never went back. Wouldn't recommend going there ever. Seems as if they are "temporarily closed" now. Can't say I'm surprised

franks is obviously gone cant get a pizza on a friday night don"t get it and dont care been going their for over 40 years it is sad but i am done that place sucks only because the old owners are not there!

By far the best Pizza that I've ever had... If you are within 500 miles of Grass Valley California... do yourself a favor and get a pizza. Caution! You may not enjoy other pizzas again because your eyes would have been opened to the truth...

For years now I've heard over and over again that Frank's Pizza is the very best pizza in Nevada County. A recent visit to this folksy, full of character downtown establishment proves this to be true. The crust is amazing, and likely 100 percent home made. The toppings are generous and overwhelmingly delicious, and unlike anything at Mountain Mikes, Trailblazers or La Gastronomia or anything else in town that I've tried (My pizza was pepperoni and mushroom). This restaurant is an amazing piece of authentic Grass Valley. The business dates from the 1960's and has similarities to that "off the hook, rocking pizza place" you remember from your college years....an earthy hippie vibe. A full assortment of microbrews is available to go with your pizza. They even offer uncooked take and bake pizza so you can take an extra pie home with you for future enjoyment. Highly recommended.

Franks Pizza is by far the Best Pizza in Nevada County! Consistancy with toppings and crust in an original to Franks flavor. Service is always friendly and on point. Family biz that sends out a family friendly vibe.

A hole in the wall diner for Grass Valley. We had the pesto margarita pizza which was pretty blah...barely any pesto so mostly bread with some tomatoes baked in the oven. Had a bottled beer because they were out of dark beer on tap. Staff was super nice, though, so it felt like an old fashioned diner. If this is your bauve then you'll probably return again and again. Glad I went but probably won't be back.
We ordered pizza from them for our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner. They were so nice and accommodating. The pizza was fabulous. Everyone raved about it. Thank you, Hollie

If I could give zero stars I would. The pizza dough was bitter which probably means it was rancid, way too overloaded with toppings, plain tomato sauce and enough cheese to feed a family of horses. Once I complained about the quality of the food the waitress gave overwhelming attitude making it out like I just wanted free pizza when my boyfriend and I got upset stomachs and barely ate 2 slices. My boyfriend politely tried to explain this to her with a response of “what’s that look for?” and “we NEVER get complaints”. A very condescending attitude. I’ve never in my life had such awful customer service. I wouldn’t walk within 10 ft of this place.
