I discovered this bakery when we moved to Grass Valley in 2022. It’s on the corner of Hwy 49 and Wolf Road, so I drive by it every time I go to Auburn. I stop for treats when I have visitors, but, I’ve discovered my car just automatically pulls into their driveway. I only get 2 snickerdoodles each time because I have no willpower.
Always has the freshest and tastiest sandwiches and

Highly recommended!!! They did an absolutely gorgeous custom Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 16th birthday and it came out picture perfect!! Not to mention super delicious!! We also had them do a platter of cookies that were amazing!! Thank you for making my daughter’s party a success!!???
Clean and cozy space with great prices and friendly staff. Will definitely be back!
Delicious! We had the quiche, and the crust was outstanding. We also took home a few pastries, and were also as impressed. Best baked goods in the area!
Patronize this awesome place a couple times a week. A true family run business. Grandma baking everything in the back, mom making sandwiches and smoothies, and son workin the counter, etc. Quality of food outstanding, well worth the cost. I find it comical that one lady rates this place 1 star because she thinks a $10.00 sandwich is a rip off (in this day and age!) and another moron giving 1 star because he doesn't like their mask policy!! Seriously!? Hope you both do this place a huge favor and honor your word of never going back, I assure you they will appreciate it immensely. This place is as Spiffy as can be!!
Just trying the smokehouse sandwich for the first time.It is amazing.Thank you for the great lunch
As a kid growing up in South Suburban Chicago, every summer the local carnival would sell these round, flat, deep fried cinnamon doughy circles of pure joy called Elephant Ears (well, because they looked just like small elephant ears) and I looked forward to them every year. It had been 17 years since we moved out west, and before that it had been probably 20 years, (37 years total) since I had one. A couple years after Gristmill moved over to the shop they're currently in I decided to pop in for one of their awesome breakfast burritos I kept hearing about (and they do live up to the hype). While waiting for the savory deliciousness I perused their glass cases filled with baked delights when I saw them! Could it possibly be?! Holy s**t! They were elephant ears!! I nearly burst into tears of joy! I bought a couple of what they call cinnamon crisps, and I was immediately transported to my childhood in the midwest. They are exactly the same (a little smaller, but just as wonderful)!! Next time you're there, buy one (and a delicious breakfast burrito) and taste pure joy!
For me, it’s a white sprinkle and a plain cake doughnut. What’s your favorite from the Gristmill? I go there at lease once a week. It’s always good and I can recommend them highly!
Went in for the first time today. Ordered a Reuben and all of the sandwiches were really expensive ($10) I got what looked like half a sandwich for a child teeny tiny and didn't even taste that good! If you are going to charge $10 for a SANDWICH make them bigger at least. The staff seemed to be stressed out making 2 sandwiches it wasn't busy at all. Definitely NOT going back to get ripped off again.

Was going to attempt to enter your establishment the mask mandate have been removed from California. Still have a sign requiring Mask until that sign is removed I will never enter your establishment.
Great little bakery/deli/breakfast spot! I Had an amazing bacon and egg croissant and the hubby had bacon and sausage breakfast burrito. Lots of people came in to order cakes, cookies and pies made to order. It was early but people were getting fresh made deli sandwich’s too. Def coming back!
Love their food, love the service and most of all, love everyone behind the counter. Trully service with a smile ??
