Tinsel Tavern: The server was amazing!! Loved her! and the atmosphere is fun and festive for the Holidays buuuut the price of drinks and appetizers is outrageous.... especially when everyone gets a basic glass, nothing festive like it use to be with the miracle bar. Wish it was more presentation for the high cost. Come on Iorn Gate, we love you.

What a delicious brunch, great live music, and efficient service for the Mother’s Day Brunch! Top tip - get the lemon tarts… mmmmm

We actually enjoy going to the Christmas miracle bar each year. Been here several years and never had reservations just walked in. I like the kind of campy over the top lights. Yes it's very retro and throwback. Lots of people here complaining about the price of cocktails. Yes this is the high end of just about any cocktail price but in their defense they are very unusual seasonal cocktails that are quite complex with multiple Liquors in them. Don't come here if you want a $5 rum and coke. That said they have an outstanding beer selection that is standard price for Grass Valley. It's not to everybody's taste I'm sure but it was fun.

Made reservations for a Saturday night at their “miracle bar” it was kind of cute but compared to other locations, it was not as over the top as I had expected. I thought they would be playing Christmas music and the staff would be in Christmas attire but instead they were playing lo-fi and the staff was in all black. The drinks are $16-$18 each and in little espresso sized mugs.It was an experience we wanted to try, but we probably won’t go again

Had reservations for the holiday speakeasy atmosphere and was very disappointed how tacky it was. It felt like a neon nightmare but Tacky is a better word to describe the holiday decor. We sat down, looked around and got up and left. Honestly, if you’re prone to seizures, don’t go in there it would trigger one. The drink prices were very expensive $16 for a cocktail $14 for a glass of wine. We left and went upstairs to the traditional bar In the lobby of the hotel and found it a much nicer environment and drinks were two dollars a glass cheaper. Now, if you’re into that neon tinsel, tacky look then you might find it fun. The staff is nice though and the hotel lobby is charming.

What a great experience! The bartender at the Iron Door was so helpful and recommended the best drinks for my friends and I, and the underground speakeasy atmosphere was so cool. I highly recommend checking this place out!!

Wonderful place for a staycation or if you’re just wanting some speakeasy vibes, good food, and amazing staff look no further. They even host weddings!!
One star is a kindness. I made reservations for the "miracle" bar and arrived a little early for check in. The door guy noticed my party was in the lobby area but never came out to great us or to seat us. Two more groups showed up and he took one of the others ahead of us. If the door guy can't handle the door maybe he should find a different job. Based off of this restaurants staff it's complete garbage don’t waste your time here.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Got married at Holbrooke Hotel November 2021 and came back this year for our 1 year anniversary. 100% recommend for weddings or a nice getaway. All the staff we've met have been so helpful and have a wonderful demeanor, especially Angie & Sonia who helped us with our wedding and booking for our anniversary. Food/bar is great and the atmosphere is perfect.
Golden Gate Saloon at the Holbrooke in Grass Valley is probably the best bar I’ve ever experienced. Outstanding restoration job. So cool to know it’s long history; makes it even better. Felt like I was in a Hemingway novel.
