We had chicken shawarma, beef or lamb gyro and falafel sandwich. They were all very good! Also the tiramisu and the baklava. Both were amazing

The owner of this resturant is most definently dedicated to serving meals that leave you coming back for more. The ladies he has servicing patrons are also dedicated to service with a smile. My hubby and I stumbled upon this place while exploring old town Grass Valley. The outside building was inviting us in. (The pics online don't do justice to how it looks now) You are met with planters filled with fresh herbs as you walk up the door and colorful patio outside sitting tables.
The name at first made us a tad curious as the sound of the name has you pre judging that it is going to be a gastric nightmare after you indulge and eat. However, if you know the meaning of the word, you know that it means quite the opposite. The name means the art or science of good eating, encompassing the selection, preparation, presentation, and enjoyment of food. It also includes the study of food and culture, culinary customs, and the cooking styles of particular regions.
Well, do not let the name put you off. I am so glad we ventured inside. Once my hubby saw babaganoush and baklava and other Armenian type dishes on menu, we had to eat. Wonderful atmosphere. It's like being in your own world. Another country.
Deliciousness in every bite no matter what we ordered. We had a Mediterranean salad, dolmades and a pizza with baklava as dessert. I can't recall the name of the pizza right now. Georgie the owner and creator of these fabulous dishes is absolutely amazing and accommodating and a delightful host.
My only complaint is that he was not going to be open the next day (Monday) so that we could eat lunch again before heading back home north. We will definitely be returning to this place whenever in town. The prices are also very reasonable. Thank you for the experience Gerogie. My stomach left very happy and had absolutely no pre judged post gastric issues of my ideas of the name sound. The only gastric issues I had was that my gastronomic system and insides was left wanting wanting more La Gastronomia delight! See you again when in town. ❤️

If you are looking for a small family friendly Mediterranean food this is your place. Great selection of food, from pizza and sandwiches to gyros and salads. Meals are cooked in a fire roasting oven. The owner actually does the cooking.
