We planned our whole trip around this tiny pasty shop. We had never had one before and this was the place everyone said to go. And boy oh boy are our lives changed!
You are greeted by these wonderfully charming ladies who are so excited to see you. We ordered the beef pasty and the sausage pasty. Each one is this huge pastry filled with hot meat and onions. It’s like a warm hug from the inside. We only wish we could have been eating these with the cold chill of winter instead of the heat of peak summer.
If you are traveling there bring a cooler! You will want to take some frozen ones home so you don’t go through pasty withdrawals!

Tried both the chicken and beef pasties. The pasties skin is excellent in texture, but for my taste, the flavor didn’t quite pop. It’s definitely a healthier option, though, which I appreciate.
The filling is generous, but I personally would’ve preferred less potato and more meat, which makes it feel a bit pricey for what you get. Still, it’s satisfying and filling.
The shop itself is tiny and cozy, maybe seats six people max. We chose to take ours to go, which worked out well. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a quick bite or a quiet moment.

My favorite was the broccoli cheese, and the gravy was delicious with all of them.

Marshall's pasties are THE BEST! Any time I have to go through Grass Valley, I make sure to stop by Marshall's and stock up my freezer! The prices are beyond reasonable for the quality and size of the pasties. 🤤
After SEVERAL trial & error attempts, I've finally found the perfect air fryer reheat method (not that anybody asked 🤣)
From refrigerator: Microwave for 1 min. at 50% power, then air fry for 6-10 min @360°.
From frozen: Increase microwave time to 2 min. (At 50% power)

I cannot recommend this place enough. Try one of each, and make sure you have some for later. You'll absolutely be wanting more than one! My favorites are the Broccoli and cheese, and the Apple.

It's a tiny shop so sit down eating can be challenging, but it's so worth it. You'd think meat and potatoes in dough would be easy, but they take it to the next level. If you're lucky you can watch the little old ladies in the back preparing them, nothing frozen here. And as much as I hate to recommend something that's already sold out almost Immediately, you have to try the Apple pasties

Wow wow WOW! Stopped in Grass Valley for lunch and wanted to try something different and we were pleasantly surprised with the place! Great service, friendly, and quality food. The beef and sausage ones were 🔥🔥🔥 Cash only!!
Lovely pasties!! Friendly staff.
Excellent spot! And they are way less expensive than the other spot down the street- and nicer too! We got two pasties here, and later my husband decided to try the other spot, and he paid $2 more for his one, than we paid here for two! Highly recommend, delicious and a good deal!
Very delicious 😋!
It's mostly to go
