A little quiet midday on a Friday, service was excellent and attentive, food was delicious and prepared quickly. Had the garlic sauce steak plate, filling and just the right thing for a long road trip! Super tasty horchata as well.

The food here is amazing, the options for vegans isn’t marked on the menu but when you speak to the server they are very clear with options. I had the two burritos with the meat subbed for potatoes (without sour cream and refried beans) absolutely delicious!! Totally recommend the servers are so helpful and friendly.
So my husband and I recently moved to Groveland and have been to this restaurant several times. Yesterday we went for lunch and we had very bad customer service. There was only myself and my husband and one other couple. We sat and waited 15 minutes to be even asked what we wanted to order and then we were brought a basket of chips which I might add was not very full at all, and I'm not talking about to the rim full, it might have had 20 chips in the basket. When we received our food I asked for another basket of chips since the one we received first had barely any chips. We even had to get our own menu and forks off another table. We went to pay and we were charged $3.95 for the second basket of chips. I tried calling today and kept being told the manager wasn't coming in until 6:00pm so I waited until 3:40 and called back, he once again told me the manager wasn't there and I asked for his sister, then he said this is Jr. how can I help you. He begins to explain that they now charge for the second basket, I tried to explain how the basket had hardly any chips. He started saying well mam I don't know if your aware of how high the food cost is and I mentioned I do buy groceries myself, but we've been there many times and never charged for a basket of chips. Jr as he called himself hung the phone up on me. I called back and in formed him I would be making a post about this and I will let other's know how I was treated.

There seems to be no cleanliness maintained in this restaurant. Me and my family got food poisoning after dining here. I would stay away. The food tasted bad anyway and this was not worth it. The staff are very rude.

Racist and Triggering Experience
I’m deeply disappointed and appalled by my recent experience at Cocina. My friends and I were seated when we entered the restaurant, but immediately after, we were asked to leave so that a white family who arrived after us could be seated. The staff made no attempt to explain their actions or apologize. Instead, they told us to wait for a while.
We waited for a good 30 minutes while other restaurants in the area closed down. People were leaving the restaurant and we were still not being seated. When we went to check back with them, they simply told us that they refused to serve us. They became very loud and started hurling racist abuses at me and my friends.
This is blatant racism, and no one should have to endure such treatment. We were genuinely scared for our lives as the staff became increasingly loud and abusive. It’s shocking that in this day and age, such discrimination still occurs. I strongly advise others to avoid this place and take your business elsewhere. No one deserves to be treated like this.
