We stopped for breakfast, and this place didn't disappoint! The breakfasts were great - particularly the potatoes. If I had a criticism (and I do), they have a lot of coffee drinks but no decaf... That was a bit of a surprise and a disappointment. I mean, how expensive can it be to keep a bag of decaf beans? So, as long as you're not looking for decaf coffee, it's definitely worth the visit.

Overly expensive cafe for not that great food. Paid a hefty amount for a single slice and not even tasty and very oily avocado toast.
Staff was ok and service was quick. We went early morning like 9 on a weekday perhaps that’s why too.

We went to the Hungry Bear Cafe this evening and ordered 2 pesto chicken sandwiches around 6:30. After about 45 minutes of not getting our food, I went to check on it. The employee told me that they had made our order, but someone else had grabbed it when they put it on the counter for us. Our buzzer to alert us when our food was ready never went off, so this explanation didn’t make sense. I asked if we could have a refund to make up for our very long wait. At this point, my parents, who had ordered one minute before we did, were already finished with their food. The employee called his manager and she walked him through how to refund us. I explained to him we still wanted our food. He said if they had already started making it, we could still have it. I guess he never communicated this to the lady cooking, because I went up about 5 minutes later to double check with him and he said that yes, it was already on the grill so we’d get it. But when 20 additional minutes passed and we still hadn’t gotten our food, I went and checked once again. The lady cooking came out and said she’d never heard of someone getting a refund and still wanting their food, so she wasn’t making them. They called the manager and she said if we wanted to pay again they could start making the food. Where we’re from in the Midwest, it’s extremely common to comp someone’s order when the service has been this slow or bad. Two of the employees did seem to be trying to help, but we heard three different stories about why we didn’t have our food yet, so it appeared they were lying to cover their bad service and disorganization. I guess we now know why they’re called the Hungry Bear Cafe. An appropriate motto for this company would be “come hungry, leave hungry”.
Not a very friendly restaurant! We didn’t feel welcome! Cashier was rude and it almost felt like we were a bother to him!Don’t recommend this restaurant especially if you are not the right color if you know what I mean!:(

I had the chicken pesto sandwich and a chocolate milk shake. The milk shake was $8 and 24oz and was delicious. The flavors on the sandwich were fantastic. I do wish the chicken breast was larger, 40% of the sandwich did not have chicken and was bread/veggies.
I sat on the back patio over the market and enjoyed some people watching. If there was one area they could improve it is the cleanliness of the balcony. I don't think those chairs have ever been cleaned.

No breakfast after 11 am, which I find strange since this area is full of people camping on vacation getting up late, and unfortunate because I was looking forward to it. Ordered a chicken sandwich and an Oreo milkshake, got my order wrong and had chicken tenders and fries that were yummy but only 4 tenders and the full order cost me about $30. Not worth it.
Went back the next day before 11 am to give it another try, they no longer serve pancakes and the wait was beyond 30 minutes so I decided to leave.

Best biscuits and gravy I had in California. It seems like no one knows how to make decent biscuits and gravy meal nowadays but this plate really did go beyond my expectations. Loved the quality taste of the sausage and the topped green onions was a pleasant surprise. Good portions. Fresh tasting ingredients. Friendly staff, Service is a little slow but the wait is definitely worth it!

Fantastic little gem we happened to stumble on. Great coffee and food. There isn't anything specifically vegan on the menu but the staff was more than happy to modify ingredients to set menu choices to accommodate us. Staff was really warm and inviting. Too bad we were just stopping by...
