40th birthday dinner! Our experience began with the hostess, who was happy and engaging. Our server was incredible. The food was so delicious we wanted to lick the plates! Would go back again if we are ever back in town!

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last night at Pono. We were originally planning on being at Mala Tavern on Maui for this momentous occasion, but we had a change in plans several months ago so decided to try this instead. We were pleasantly surprised, although we had read good things and we have planned on visiting here for quite some time. I had the Channel Islands white sea bass and my husband had the macadamia encrusted halibut that was substituted for the mahi-mahi. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful and rarely do we find a kitchen that properly cooks fish. Both these dishes were cooked perfectly. And the portions were more than generous. I actually have enough to eat for my dinner tonight as well. They have my favorite Brander Sauvignon Blanc and it's always a treat to find that on the wine list. The bar is beautiful. The space is well designed and aesthetically pleasing. Lots of thought went into small details, which I always appreciate. The service was excellent, owner greeted us on our arrival and told us goodbye and thanks on our departure, and Anna was an excellent server. We plan to return.

Pono has become one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Great people/service and fantastic food. The down side is some of their dishes(fried chicken) are seasonal and we would like to see them all year round.

...interesting menu choices, good wine selection, attentive wait staff. Food was exceptional. My wife and I shared an order of crab cakes and toasted sourdough bread with honey Brie butter for appetizers. She had the halibut and I had the sea bass. Both were locally sourced and prepared to perfection. This was our first visit to Pono—we will be back!

What an incredible meal! We reflected back on each dish, from our appetizer, to the main entree, and finally dessert. Superb! The waiter staff and owner put forth a great effort to make sure we were happy and well-fed!

Enjoyed a business dinner here while visiting the Pismo/ SLO area. We had a group of four on a Wednesday night and had made a reservation just in case but there was enough seating available even if we hadn’t. The menu was minimalist and easy to navigate with the help of our server. Mostly seafood (excellent dishes) with a turf and vegetarian option included. This place seemed great for a casual night out, date night or business meal. The staff was friendly, accommodating and quietly did a great job of keeping our wine glasses full enough. I look forward to returning on my next trip.

Stopped here for a business dinner while on a trip to SLO area. The restaurant is perfectly decorated and laid out in a comfortable layout with a small patio area. Our serves was polite and helpful when describing items on the menu and their preparation. The wine list is easy to navigate with great local selections to pick from. The menu was also easy to navigate, minimalist with each dish executed to our satisfaction. I would recommend this place to anyone I know who likes seafood and will be in the area.

Pono is a culinary gem located in the Central Coast. Fresh and delicious seafood served with a blend of Asian and Mediterranean tastes. Excellent service.

The bread and peppers apps are very good. The lettuce salad is under dressed and more in the sweet than savory side. Portions are large. The butter fish and ahi were pretty good. The fingerling potatoes served with the ahi were so over cooked you couldn't Speer them with a fork. It's a fine place but not outstanding. Our server was very nice but she didn't clear plates and when our salads arrived we had multiple dirty dishes in the table that she just left there. At the end of the evening, she never brought the check! I had to chase her down. I give it 2.5 stars out of 5z
