Sushi 805 was good service was good I would visit again. The restaurant is right on Grand ave near the entrance to the Oceano Dunes, right up the street from the Monarch Butterflies migration spot, not far away from Pismo Beach. We had a firecracker appetizer, green tea, miso soup, a shrimp tempura roll and a Hawaiian roll. All of the food was good my only issue is I feel like the fried onions on my Hawaiian roll may not have been fresh to order / were a bit stale. I order this type of roll wherever they have it so that would be my constructive criticism. I’m not docking any points because otherwise, everything was good but that would have made it perfect. Not quite sure what was going on with that as my wonton chips in the firecracker were fresh. Overall like I said I would visit again. Apparently they also do all you can eat here, and also have Korean BBQ in addition to Japanese skewers and Ramen. Give it a try.

One warning from a veteran - the sushi is Texas-sized (not the rice only, the whole roll is giant). Be careful how much you order, try to go light on Round 1. The service was good

My go to sushi restaurant. I often order takeout from 805, the sushi is extremely fresh and very tasty at a very reasonable price. Even though I have never dined in the restaurant, however I have had takeout hundreds of times.

Blew 100 dollars on rice. I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants and have never seen so much rice under a tiny piece of fish. Honestly couldn't taste it. Rolls had more pieces than the menu said. Was eyeballed the whole time.

I’ll start by saying this the food was good. If I could’ve had it delivered to a table with literally anyone else serving us, this might be a five-star review.
Unfortunately, our server made the entire experience feel like we were intruding on her very exhausting day of… standing around. She mumbled through every interaction, gave us zero greeting or intro, and when we asked questions, she’d either shrug, say “I don’t know,” or “I’ll find out” and then never come back. I’m not exaggerating. We’d ask for something and it was like we’d launched it into a black hole.
To be clear, the dining room wasn’t slammed. There were four tables total. FOUR. We were one of them. Meanwhile, an older woman and a young boy were hustling attentive, friendly, actually serving their tables. Our server, though? She looked completely overwhelmed by the high-pressure complexity of our order: • Chicken gyoza • California roll • Philadelphia roll • Spicy tuna roll • Shrimp tempura • Shrimp tempura roll • A round of sake bombs
A feast? Kind of? An impossible mission? Absolutely not.
I’d come back for the food but only if I can sit in literally anyone else’s section. Preferably someone who knows how to check on a table… or at least remembers it exists. Or I’ll just order to-go!

Sushi was just okay. The fish didn’t have the color I expected and was more muted. There was a lot of crab in the rolls. I just didn’t feel they looked like what was on the menu.

Ordered online and picked up. Very nice staff but forgot soy sauce and chopsticks even though he said they would be in the bag. I got some appetizers which were fine but the actual sushi roll I got was terrible. No flavor but also fishy at the same time. Worst sushi roll I have had in some time. Would not recommend this place for sushi. Confused by the good reviews.
