Casual. For a small place, had pretty good greenlip mussels.

Ordered the crab burrito. It was mostly packed full of lettuce with little crab meat. There were also many crab shells I had to pick out. Would have ordered something different if I had known, especially since the price was higher. Otherwise the staff was friendly and they had some good music playing that I was rocking out to while eating.

Had clam chowder and fish n chips. The price is outrageous for what you get, and when I had it I was disappointed. Clam chowder was not good and the fish was bland. The small cut fries were ok. I wouldn't go back and I usually don't leave these reviews.

I thought this looked cool as it wasn't on the main drag. I asked the cashier (no servers - cafeteria style) if she recommended the crab sandwich, and she had sort of a blank look on her face saying it was good. Had I known I was going to get a mayonnaise sandwich with some crab somewhere in between the fresh & delicious bread, I would have opted for something else - they did have a cool, fresh oyster bar in the back, but everything up front is fried.

The Shack is nestled behind the autoparts store, and has a hole in the wall feel. We had rockfish and chips, and fish tacos, both of which were great. The fries are to die for. It's a little pricey, but that's the way it is when you are in harder to get places. I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for seafood in Gualala.

We drove up from the Bay Area for the weekend after July 4th. Tried the chowder, prawn and fish tacos. Was blown away. Stopped by the next day on our way back and ordered the same. Strong recommend, great vibes and great food - a must stop when you cross Gualala.
