We came here for drinks. People who had been here before recommended them for their craft cocktails. LET ME TELL YOU: These drinks are magic potions. Delicious, potent, creative, surprising. I’m from Los Angeles, I’m here at the Russian River for vacation. I did not expect to be hit with high level mixology in this lovely little town. Come here and have your tastebuds and mind blown.

A little pricey but great mezcal drinks especially the el jardin

Show up sober because this will be the best cocktail of your life and you really need to taste it to fully appreciate its artistry! The food is also simple but sublime. Great flavors, nothing mild about it. Stop slamming well shots and treat yourself to something memorable instead! Afterwards you can head to a dive bar, if you must.

I’ve been to a lot of cocktail bars in a lot of cities and I think very few I’ve ever been to match the quality of the cocktails served at El Barrio. This man is an absolute legend. Seriously. Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, anywhere. The food is great, too. Cool atmosphere. I could go on but I’d be gushing. Ten stars out of five. You should just go and find out for yourself.

I love that they keep introducing more food options, all out of that tiny kitchen. I just had the burrito and it was delicious, but I've always loved the tacos. The decor is so warm and inviting, especially the dramatic red, glossy bar. The bartender makes fantastic cocktails. The casa margarita is classic, but some of the speciality cocktails have edible flowers and are really pretty. We love this place and bring friends all the time.

Overpriced place & they charge automatic gratuity … (for only two people)

The tacos are an insult for the price to be honest, better don’t sell anything, too basic, too small, no taste at all.
And the queso de cabra never see something like before lol better don’t order please.
The “cocina” seems very disorganized in general. We ask for another fork and never arrive lol and the place wasn’t even busy.

The no-alcoholic drink Jamaica-ginger was good but SO much ice on it.
Didn’t take any pictures of anything because at the moment I was very mad but now I feel others should know about this!

I took a weekend trip to this small town with friends and was excited to hear they had a mezcal bar in town.

I paid $45 for a single shot. Literally more expensive than Los Angeles, where I'm from. It's a mezcal I drink at home - the bottle is maybe $110 tops, so this is just price gouging in my opinion.

I could handle that if not for the offputting bartender. As other reviews have mentioned, he has a discriminatory disposition. The way he handled white customers in my group as opposed to myself was so obvious, it made my friends uncomfortable. And yes, gay people can be racist. That is part of the interesting dynamic of this town, but a valuable reminder of its culture (or lack thereof).

Welcome to Guernville - a little slice of rainbow painted Deliverance right here in California Lol.

Response to owner: Other reviews have complained about the same bartenders poor service and bigotry.
Despite your dismissiveness, it would appear this is not just how I "felt".......regardless of orientation and ethnicity, someone who isn't capable of behaving like a decent human being, is not going to be an asset to your business.

Recommended by a friend. Walked out after being ignored for 10 minutes by bartender (only way to order food or drink). Customer unfriendly in every way. Went next door to Boon and the people couldn’t have been
