It HAD BEEN One of the best Japanese eateries in California until my last visit a year ago.

I suspect the ownership has been changed and I don't hear the chef's favorite songs by Southern All Stars from the kitchen anymore.

Chef Carlos is missing something in his ingredients.

Umami Ramen is missing umami, curry is now sweater and spicier, and where is my favorite near frozen sake anymore?

Too sad, too bad.

It is a wonderful establishment to enjoy genuine Japanese ramen and a diverse selection of accompanying dishes. My companions and I have frequented this restaurant for many years and have consistently been delighted with our experiences. Furthermore, the staff members are exceptionally friendly and accommodating.

I had a great meal at Foo Foo Tei! The food was delicious overall, but the standout for me was definitely the broiled squid — it was cooked perfectly, tender with a nice char and full of flavor. I’d definitely come back just for that. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere made the experience even better.

One of the top picks in the area for ramen. They have various selections and the tastes are rich. Pricing is average. Pretty packed place at most times, so make sure you have extra time for a little wait time when you visit.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade. That’s says a lot. The restaurants has that homemade feeling to it. Foo Foo Tei offers variety of dishes, but they are famous for their ramen. I love the number 17 Ramen and I would order that every time. Their portion portion is gigantic (despite being decently priced), so if you are ordering Ramen be careful not to order too many appetizers unless you are a big eater. Their portion portion restaurant can get real busy, so you should arrive a little before opening time to avoid the wait.

It's been more than 10 years since I last ate here and I'm happy to report that the food still taste the same. My go to #23 with mini fried rice took me back years. Lots of places does Ramen but for me this is my Ramen before Ramen was popular.
