I’ve been staying here for years and during my stay this week, I had an emergency and have to check out and travel to another Marriots . They still charged me the extra night. They should have waved it especially how much my work does business with them. That’s too bad. Been a loyal customer and will not return here again since they value the money more than servicing their customers.

First and probably last time. The food was spicier than expected even though I ordered one notch above the lowest or bland choice. Also the veggies in the broth were kind of blah, carrots, broccoli, etc. No choy or mushrooms?

We have stayed at this Courtyard many times for years. Because of the proximity to our elderly father, we continued to tolerate the horrible room conditions and service. Last year, during one stay we found blood stain (see photo)on the bedding. During another stay we got bug bites then found dead bugs on bed. Then there was a time, middle of shower at night, lights went out because hotel had electricity problem. The worst time was coming out of shower realizing there were no towels at all. There were a few times they even had no water. It is not uncommon to hear next door guests talking through the thin walls. Of course each time, they apologized and promised to do better. Since Mr Kim took over as general manager, they lost their level of service we used to appreciate. After this trip of long 8-night stay and receiving such a horrible treatment by management, we finally said no more. We are platinum elite members. Not only were we not offered an upgraded room, but the management would not clarify communication made by their team member regarding waiving parking fee for an extended stay. We repeatedly requested over 3 days, to talk to a manager. It was not even about waiving the parking fee. They could not be reached unless it’s between the hours of 10am - 8pm and demonstrated apathy. That can not be how a Marriott brand hotel is run. It’s unfortunate they just lost a cluster of loyal families that will not be returning.

Newly renovated. Very quiet and nice amenities. Gym is really new, clean and sufficient. One thing I disliked is that the lights go out in the toilet and wash area when there is no movement. This created a hassle when we need to visit the toilets in the middle of the night. Small closet space. Liked the standing shower and the big smart TV in the room. They serve chocolates and water at the reception which is a nice gesture. Only thing is there was only one check in staff (Tony) manning the reception and there was a long line. I can tell that he is very stressed and when I checked if there was a parcel for me, he was not in the right "mood" to check for me then which I understand then but eventually Tony did help me locate the parcel and all is good

This hotel does not care about you or your money. Reservations were AWEFUL, bought a coffee from the bistro that wasn't made right, rooms had mud on the floor, hairs all over the desk and rooms weren't ready at check in.... brought evidence and pictures and they offered NO COMPENSATION ....AT ALL. They gave me alcohol wipes for me to wipe down the desk.... that is IT!!!!! I got a housekeeper to vacuum my room and I wiped the tables down (see the picture below...that is after one wipe!). this hotel is no Marriott.... felt more like a day's inn.... once you are in they could care less.

Note: I only used the room, and not any of the amenities. On approach, the hotel looks like any 3-star hotel in LA. Unremarkable. Upon entering my room, I was surprised by how new and plush the interior is. It's almost as if I entered a different hotel. The room was spacious, furniture new. It can easily accommodate 4 to 5 people hanging out with no problem. The location is away from major thoroughfare, so very quiet. Highly recommend it.

Refreshed rooms and lobby are tastefully done and very functional/ergonomic. The bed was very comfortable, the heating/AC worked quietly, and well. The building is older with an odd layout, so you're better off taking the stairs (if you can find them). Hotel is also well located and staff are cheerful and informative. The downside is, this is just a Courtyard, from the 80s. Ceilings are low, corridors are long and elevators are hard to find. Many rooms have motel-style parking lot views. So the higher-end prices are not justified -- and there are fees and upcharges that make the price point way too high. Parking is $10 for no reason. In terms of takeaways, there's no free breakfast or lobby coffee. Skimpy bath amenities tipped the balance, so I ended up feeling taken advantage of, not welcomed. Staff apologized and pointed to hiring problems but if the property can't staff a breakfast, maybe they can waive the parking fee instead of pocketing my $10 and holding onto the salary savings.

We have stayed at this Courtyard for many years as it is near to our daughter. It has been completely remodeled and it is lovely. From the reception area to the rooms, everything is new and sparkling. The removal of the tub and the new large shower is very good. and much safer for older guests.

TLDR: Room reeked of cigarette smoke and had visible ash covering furniture. Hotel manager Carlos was pretty horrible in customer support, problem-solving, and basic empathy for his paying guests. Really, stay somewhere else... -- We are traveling with our kids aged 3 and 6, and booked this hotel for 2 nights for connected rooms. We needed the two rooms because we could not let our kids sleep alone in a room. When we arrived at the hotel, one of the two rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. It was so strong I could not stand to spend any time in the room. I took a photo of the nightstand as an example, you can see cigarette ash on the nightstand and phone. The hotel offered us two rooms next to each other but not connected -- we would have to walk in the hallway for a little bit to get to either room. It was going to be a long, horrible night. In the before times, I traveled a lot, and I have never met a hotel manager with poorer basic customer service skills than Carlos. When I spoke with him, I asked him to please go with me to the room they booked us into originally. He refused, saying "I don't need to, your nose is much more sensitive than mine." He next stated without my asking anything "We changed your rooms, I can't give you something I don't have." Stunned, I explained politely that we would not have stayed in the hotel if the rooms weren't connecting and this would be a big hardship for my family. He said without any apology "I'll waive the parking fee." I asked if that was the best he could do for me, and he said he would also give me 10,000 points (which isn't even a night free at the lowest hotel in Marriott's portfolio). I had Bonvoy Loyalty book us another hotel nearby with connecting rooms, and cancel our reservation at the Hacienda Heights hotel. When I went to pick up my luggage and move it, my key didn't work at their side door. When I asked my friend Carlos at the front desk whether my key worked to retrieve all of our luggage from the room, he proceeded to take my keys and go thru a condescending 5 minute demonstration of how to use a key properly at the front door of their hotel. No sorry it didn't work out, no sorry your room was literally an ash tray, no please come back next time. No offer to help me with the entire cart of luggage I had to take to my car. I hope this hotel's owners might read these reviews and provide Carlos with a refresher course in how to provide proper welcome hospitality to guests, and to help solve problems, not create them. I'll leave it to the case I opened with Marriott Corporate to investigate why we were provided a room at check-in for my children to stay in that had visible signs of smoking.

Heavily congested parking lot with Contract Cell Tower workers staying at the hotel. Multiple heavy trailers frequently parked at irregular angles and workers who perform assembly operations for the cell tower equipment right in the parking lot leaving nails and screws laying around. Housekeeping does a fair job with the beds... and that’s most important right... but long black hairs throughout the bathroom (I am bald) and poorly cleaned floors (tile and carpet) have been the new normal at this property over my last several stays here. Long black hairs in the bathroom on 5 out of my last 5 stays. Hallways frequently smell like marijuana. Been staying here for almost 4 years... staff has changed over during the past 18 months. I choose this hotel based on location. This hotel is within a few blocks of many shops and restaurants. It’s nicely located off the main road and shares a parking lot access with a senior living area. I will say the hotel seems older but kept up well, no elevator was available when I stayed. Pool area is an attractive courtyard in the center and all rooms seem to have a balcony facing the pool. 4 stars because of the non-elevator accommodations. I travel with heavier bags due to prolonged stays often at times.

Stay away, terrible customer service, worst experience ever, you'll be treated better at motel 6, avoid at all cost. non-caring staff from top to bottom level. waste of money. location ok, rooms too old and smell.

It’s a quiet nice hotel in Hacienda Heights. We stayed during Columbus weekend. Got upgraded to suite room with courtyard view as marriott gold bonvoy member. I was greeted with welcome note for my earlier birthday stay. I loved the personalized attention from the hotel. Room is spacious, nice bedding and comfy. Close to freeway and restaurants. Yes, you have to pay $10 per night parking fees which were mentioned up front during reservation. Not a big deal as it has been disclosed upfront.

Grew up in the area and have been coming here on-and-off since it opened for business and family and still come at least once-a-year. It's really the only place in the area. It's always good. Always clean. First and foremost, you can't ask for a better staff. I travel extensively for business all over the country and the service is always great. No matter who is in charge, this time it was Jacob and I had alot of family here for a family event and he and his staff were really patient even tho' they were full over a big weekend. From the front desk to the folks in the bistro to the service staff, they are always stellar. There's a few dings here and there because the hotel is getting older...ran outta hot water one night. Spotty hot water several other nights. Several plugs in the room didn't work and we never got the TV working right, over the 5 nights but still...I'd come back and plan to come back over-and-over. Well done and thank you!

Lovely lounge and cute bar area. Easy to check in. Our room was a cute suite with a separate seating room. Great location to restaurants and shopping and Whittier College. The room was clean. Our only issues was our room keys kept not working even though we were extremely diligent about keeping them away from our cell phones. It was a bit of a hassle be cause we were so far away from the front desk. Other than that, I would stay here again.
