Caffé Mezza Luna is a gem tucked into the harbor area of Half Moon Bay. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a fireplace inside and a view of the boats outside. It’s the kind of place where you can sip a cappuccino slowly and enjoy the calm of the coast. The staff are friendly and efficient, even during busy weekend mornings.

The coffee is consistently well-prepared—smooth, rich, and served hot. Their cappuccinos and lattes are especially popular, often paired with a flaky almond croissant or a buttery chocolate chip scone. For a heartier option, the breakfast sandwiches and quiches are satisfying without being heavy. Everything feels fresh and thoughtfully made.

Whether you're stopping in after a morning walk or looking for a quiet place to read or chat, Caffé Mezza Luna delivers a relaxing and flavorful experience. It’s a local favorite for good reason.

Stopped by on our way to San Francisco. The food was decent, we had pies, cookies and other treats. I was expecting it to be a bit better though, but it was still good overall. Staff was great and very patient with us as we were slow to decide what we wanted. I had a mocha which was average.

Amazing pastries!! And super clean bathroom. Super kind workers. Got the lemon meringue tart and it was amazing on the beach!

The veggie omelette here is out of this world! My husband and I both agreed that this was the best veggie omelette (with cheese) that we have had. We were just passing through this town but I know we are going to be craving it again for a long time. It came with hash browns, toast and butter, and everything was top notch. The only bad part is that we had to pay $1.50 to add just a bit of avocado to the omelette, but if it led to this perfection, it was well worth it.
Pistachio mascaporne cake was really good too. Definitely a must-stop.

I came here on a solo trip, all the restaurants are full of groups. I felt like having clam chowder and that was the soup of the day. I waited which felt like forever for my clam chowder to arrive. I thought maybe they would have it already made in a pot staying warm to serve throughout the day. Finally it arrived. It wasn’t clam chowder at all! It had more corn than clams. Maybe for like 2 clams. It was watery not thick or rich at all. I like my clam chowder a little more creamy. They just put some seasoning on top. Atmosphere was fine. Good for small groups and solo trippers. Probably won’t eat here again if I’m in the area.

I haven't tried the meal type food here, but this is my family's go to spot for dessert and coffee in the area. The selection of pastries is always wide enough to find several you want to try. Generally, they have been hit or miss with some being very good and some being only ok, but most on the tasty side. I tried the gelato this time which was delicious

Yummy, we had macaroons, creme brulee and cookies all good. Creme brulee the best of the three. Customer service was wonderful my order was completed to perfection. Very happy.
It was clean too,

Nice place to have a hot drink, right across from the gorgeous Half Moon Bay waterfront

Unfortunately a cold cappuccino and mostly cool omelette breakfast today. Maybe better food on other days..
Very rushed.

The Tiramisu and Creme Brulee were delightful, and the latte was rich and perfectly brewed. However, the service was a bit slow, and the wait time to place an order was lengthy due to only one cashier being open. On a positive note, the cafe had a pleasant ambiance with a refreshing breeze from the open doors on both sides, and the display cases showcased a tempting array of desserts and gelatos.

Nice place but the food isn’t all that. Just save your money and go to “the press” cafe down the road.

It’s a nice little spot to stop by on your way out of HMB. The gelato is really good but the brownies are dryer than the Shara Desert.

I got two coffees tasted like water
when I ordered them I saw him put coffee and then just hot water the taste it was just brown water in the cup
I went 5 minutes later and the excuse was it mid roasted that’s why.Seriously?
He had customers so i didn’t want to argue front of his customers and hear the complain to protect his business but I guess that is the way they need to learn it and keep the arrogance and attitude off the conversation with your customers when they complain about something learn how to diffuse the situation because not everyone is calm and nice like me
Terrible coffee they are cheap and I am not the only one that says that , plenty bad reviews about the coffee and their arrogant attitude
