Sandwiches were great but the staff was unnecessarily rude

One of the highlights of our road trip was undoubtedly Dad's Luncheonette.

This quirky diner, housed in a modified train car, is a sight to behold. As soon as we pulled up, we knew we were in for a treat.

The friendly staff immediately made us feel welcome, engaging in casual conversation and ensuring we had everything we needed.

We decided to try the famous Dad's hamburger and mac and cheese, along with a classic Coca-Cola.

🍔 The hamburger was a masterpiece. The meat patty was juicy and flavorful, perfectly complemented by the pickled onions and a secret sauce that brought everything together. The bread was buttered on both sides as well.

🥘 The mac and cheese was visually appealing, topped with chives and rice puffs. While it wasn't as rich and cheesy as I had anticipated, it was still delicious and had a pleasant lightness to it. The charred rice puffs added a unique texture of a crunch & aromatic fragrance which grows on us the more we ate.

The outdoor dining area was charming, with self-service bins for easy self cleanup.

The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. And let's not forget the entertaining way the staff called out orders, adding a fun touch to the experience.

Overall, Dad's Luncheonette was a delightful stop on our road trip. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the experience was unforgettable.

The burger sandwich and the homemade fries are absolutely to-die-for. Very busy on the weekends during prime time, and with good reason.

We didn't care for the hamburger sandwich and the chips were just a pile of crumbs for $4.50. we would not go back.

Amazing food quality plus the taste of everything is out of the world. Most of their items are stills out by 1 pm. You have to be there early in order to join the queue. Their Mac n cheese and soup options are awesome. Highly recommend.

Hamburger and mushroom sandwiches were good but they do not stand up to their price ($14.50). The homemade chips was not our favorite and priced at $4.50. Soup was good for $9.00. In general, food is ok, but overpriced. Wouldn’t make it a point to come back.

Dad's is just a wonderful little spot by the beach. Tasty, non pretentious food set just by highway 1. It's not the cheapest, but the quality makes it worth it as does the great service!
