We ordered the Saba nigiri and there was something seriously wrong with it, it has a mushy/custardy texture which is really off. It was either not cured properly or part way rotten. Other stuff was good, tuna was low quality though.
Not sure I’ll come back.

Wowzaaaaa! Some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. The Fire Cracker Roll completely stole the show- we even had to order another one to go! I can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu. The staff was also incredibly welcoming and attentive.

⭐☆☆☆☆ I ordered two sushi rolls, one for myself and one for my partner. I made it very clear to mark no tobiko on my roll, as I am allergic, but they still put tobiko on it. To make things worse, they served both rolls on the same plate, so the tobiko touched everything. Now I can’t even enjoy my food, and I’m left having to order delivery somewhere else because I don’t want to drive back out again. Very disappointing experience. I will never order from here again.

Chu Toro was melt in your mouth. Spicy tuna roll absolutely delicious. Salmon hand roll was fresh and perfect. Salmon belly nigiri was buttery and bright. Servers and sushi chef all smiling and friendly. Very reasonably priced.

We have been here a couple times ever since a few years ago, when I think they just opened. The food never disappoints. I don’t often come by Japanese food that stand out, and this place does, in many ways like the presentation, taste and variety of food offered. Having spent many years in Vancouver, I’ve had a fair bit of Japanese food growing up.
The service is great too. Our waitress is quick, patient, and recommended a dish that we loved.
There is outdoor dining area in addition to indoor. There are two spacious bathrooms, relatively clean.
All in all, this is one of the top Japanese restaurants in the area and my personal favorite. I hope more people get to enjoy it like I do.

Very enjoyable meal at hangetsu sushi yesterday. It's my grandsons favorite restaurant and we went there for his birthday meal. We were warmly welcomed and seated quickly. We ordered a variety of food for the five of us and everything arrived in 5 minutes. The miso soup was delicious as was everything we ordered. The salmon sushi was excellent and the house hot sake a real treat. Finally the price was really reasonable and great value for what you get. We'll continue to be regulars and highly recommend hangetsu sushi
