This review is for take out, but either way this place is GOOD! I want to actually eat here sometime but I had to write this because I enjoyed it so much. My friend and I got take out and placing the order online was super easy, but you do pay at the restaurant and there was no option for Apple Pay or to enter your CC number. I got a dinner bento box with gyoza and tonkatsu. The gyoza was good, fairly standard but good! I really enjoyed the Tonkatsu, it was breaded lightly to perfection and cooked really well. The prices seem fair and comparable to other spots in the area. The restaurant itself is small and they only have a few tables but that's okay! Everyone I interacted with was super sweet, I can't wait to go back!

Great little spot hiding in a bland strip mall. Been here 3 time now, the food is always excellent. I have been to "high end" sushi spots, while not in that range neither are the prices. There are for reasons unknown places with more people inside but none with this spots food.

A small space that still feels spacious. We sat and were assisted expediently. The sushi was fresh and the presentation was wonderful! We even got the boat!

The food here was some of the most delicious Japanese food we've ever tried. Starting from the miso soup to the bento box and the sushi rolls, the items were tasty and very well presented with good portions. Definitely recommend to visit to this gem in half moon bay.

This spot was so cute! It's a very small spot but we were seated right away! The food was so goood! The rolls were fresh and made right there. They brought out the food so quick and checked in with us to see if things were okay! Everything tasted delicious. I would definitely come back here again. Also the portions were good!

White humble in appearance, this family gem is five star quality. Everything was fresh and super delicious. The menu is extraordinary and the price fits the budget. Very well worth a stop off for dinner. Amazing!!!

This is a tiny hole in the wall sushi spot with a couple of tables inside and 1 outside. However, it appears to be beloved based on the review and I can see why. The lady who waited on us was super nice and the food was tasty and fresh. I will come back for sure when I am in the area.

Make sure you check the special Fish of the Day ? Very fresh Nigiri! Crazy Monkey, Bay Scallop & Blue Crab California Roll very delicious. Neighbors bento box looked almost too beautiful to eat. Seaweed salad was perfect, too. Great place to stop. Very fresh fish.

We had a nice lunch there..,- I loved the sushi roll- Warriors... fresh and well made! I would order it again. - my husband had the bento box with teriyaki beef and tempura. Service was very friendly. It's a very small place with nice artwork on the walls. Prices were comparable to similar restaurants. It's in a shop center so parking is abundant and easy. We would definitely return!

My husband and I placed a pick up order for dinner on our recent weekend getaway to half moon bay, and boy were we pleasantly surprised! I can see why Hayashi has a 5-star rating as soon as I bit into my first bite. DELICIOUS and FRESH. We ordered the orange blossom roll, hayashi roll, dragon roll, 2 unagi hand rolls and 6 pieces of salmon sashimi. Pricing is fair for the quality and quantity, especially since I've paid similar for much worse sushi. I would definitely say this place is worth it! We did have to wait a bit longer than average since it was an especially busy nice, but they threw in a free seaweed salad for the inconvenience, which was perfectly crunchy to enjoy with the rest of our dinner. The sides of ginger were also a perfect palate cleanser, crisp and bright! Salmon sashimi was buttery and the unagi was scrumptious. Yum!!
