If you get here for lunch... get here early and get in line. Good sandwiches. The pastrami is served hot and its really tender. What is good is the bread... the bread is made fresh and it taste that way. Crust is crusty and the middlen is light and airy. The wheat bread has a very bold crust.

Delicious sandwiches on fantastic amazing bread. The hot pastrami sandwich was to die for. Great outdoor seating available.

I always come here when I‘m visiting the bay area. The sandwiches are great as well as the cookies. Quite often someone is busking in the garden.

San Benito House is our go-to place whenever we are in HMB. They always have a great selection of local beers and the patio & garden in the back are always a fun and lively place to hang out in the afternoon. The restaurant food is decent but the on-site deli is awesome (if you don’t mind standing in the queue for 15-30 min, because there is always a line at least on weekends). Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great place to meet up with friends and hangout for a couple hours on a weekend afternoon!

Came here on a Monday afternoon from SF and were in & out in under 5 minutes. The sandwiches are delicious, seriously one of the beat pastrami sandos I've ever had. I ordered the olive & walnut bread and it was soft, moist, flavorful. Absolutely amazing. Considering inflation and prices nowadays, the cost of the sandwich seems fair, especially for home made bread.

Seriously, it's the bread. And I would say it's one of those places- like iykyk, but I feel like it's not a big secret and partly I think it's the nostalgia. But their food is good. Yeah, it's a bit $$ but it's also HMB, everything is $$. I pretty much get the same thing every time, ham, jack, french bread, no onion, we typically get the soup too, and share it. I've never had a complaint, it's tasty, it's consistent, and the line should speak volumes of their quality. We will come here until it's not here anymore, but hopefully, that time doesn't come in my lifetime. This time around we brought our almost 1-year-old for the first time, the soup and the bread were a hit with her, too. ?

Sandwiches are really good here. Approachable sized menu - basically pick your bread (the olive walnut bread is amazing) choose your meat and cheese and it automatically comes with lettuce tomato pickles mayo mustard onion. Perfect sandwich to enjoy outside on the picnic benches.

It was little pricey compared to the volume. I tried several things, sandwiches, soup, potatoes salad, garden salad.Their food is good, but i am not sure it is worth to wait in a long line to have it.The best part to me was the sitting area they have.

Nice average sandwich well made to order. Typical items with numerous additions to suit your taste. Wait in order line then move to payment line to pickup order. Nice table area outside. Parking can be tricky on weekends.

Great place to grab a well-made, fresh and tasty sandwich, and sit outside.

Basic but tasty sandwiches, great chip and drink selection, there was live music at lunch time on a sunny day it was a perfect setting. Slightly pricey for a sandwich drinks and chips but seemed worth it

We were driving down to Carmel from San Francisco, visiting from Atlanta on our honeymoon and desperately in need of lunch, when we stumbled upon this incredible place. Truly, I haven’t had a sandwich this good…ever. The freshness of the ingredients, that spectacular olive walnut bread - when we drove back through, we stopped in again. Of all the fancy restaurants we tried on our honeymoon, this was the most memorable. If there was a way to subscribe and receive monthly shipments of these sandwiches, I’d do it. Thank you, San Benito Deli, for an incredible memory.
