The service and atmosphere is really nice! If you are looking for a ok spot that's local for sushi, go here. If you are looking for some really good sushi, I don't recommend here.

Beautiful and rustic! Lovely experience!
We chose sushi takeout and it was awesome. Two rolls, nigiri chef choice plate, yaki tori, and simple noodles. Lots of fish; these are good portions. Had the nigiri for lunch the next day. Not sure why some low reviews. My experience was great!

I can’t remember the last time I paid $150 for a meal that I left at the table because it was so bad. Looking at other’s positive reviews, I’m hoping it was a bad chef or off night? The tempura batter was heavy and chewy. I got chicken teriyaki and the chicken was awful- pounded to the point of not even tasting like chicken. My partner got the Hot Dragon roll and the tuna was chewy and inedible, and the leaf it’s wrapped in was completely overwho. We told the waitress (who was a gem by the way) and nothing was taken off the bill. Really disappointed.

I came here in 2011 and wish so badly that I could return right now, or 3 times a week! Fantastic aestetic. And the best sushi on the west coast. Maybe? Prove me wrong!
Oh boy! This was a bit of an adventure, and not just for the exquisitely prepared and served sushi. My date for the evening surprised me and said, we have reservations at a sushi place my client owns, let's go... Well, we went and the drive was a little ways from San Mateo -- no problem, but it was raining unusually hard and it was dark on a winding road! Sounds like the opening of a novel, but it really happened that way. The adventure was topped by a great experience and some interesting anecdotes by the gracious host, chef and proprietor. Great job with all that followed -- yummy sushi, miso soup, and boy were we treated nicely and offered some different types of Japanese cuisine. A great place for a quite dinner -- even on a stormy night. #TheBrokerWithAHeart

Every time we are driving on HW 1 and are close to Half Moon Bay, we go to Sushi On Main Street. We've been doint that for years. And we are never disappointed. The food is exceptionally good. The fish is always fresh. The assorted sashimi is one of my husband's favorites. I enjoy trying out different specials. We love that the service is not only quick and efficient, but we are always greeted warmly. It is one of our most preferred sushi places for lunch or dinner.

Beautiful atmosphere, wood work and art work from Indonesia. Food & service was excellent.
We enjoyed dragon roll, special spring time rolls not listed on menu. They even made special fried bananas in lemon sauce fur my birthday 🎉. Sweet place. We will be back.

Everything was amazing besides the beef
The decor and atmosphere of this place is beautiful! Large menu, service was fast + friendly… definitely recommend the Dragon or the Spicy Tuna maki rolls which were full of flavor. The Pork Potstickers and Udon were fire too. Our server was sweet and accommodated us with a special request for dessert… thank you!!

THE FOOD IS GREAT! THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THEIR PRICES. I only eat vegetarian rolls and being born and raised in HMB I use to go here a lot. It's by far the best variety of vegetarian rolls I've ever seen. But in the last 5 years the price for my vegetarian rolls has more then doubled. Sorry but I'm not paying $9-10 dollars for 5 pieces of rice and mushrooms... it use to be $4.25 or $4.75. The place used to be packed all the time. Now it's like a dead zone. With shiki around the block offering bigger portions for the same or less money... I've always been anti shiki but I can't afford to eat at main street anymore. It's $70 before tip for my 8 year old son and I to eat dinner there, without drinks.
