Menu online is not current. Food was just so so. Excellent friendly service many of whom have been at the property for decades.
I was asked at time of reservation and upon being seated; "Is this a special occasion?". I answered that it's for my wife's birthday. Me and my adult kids were expecting the restaurant would do something special for the birthday girl. But NOTHING happened. So disappointed and what's the point of asking the question.!
Gorgeous setting, but the service was a mess. The food wasn't great either. Definitely won't go back.
It was very confusing to tell where the host stand was located. The restaurant was running behind and we were sat 30minutes late. Also had to pay $50 for parking since we were not guests of the hotel. The host did not offer drinks or appetizers while we were waiting. The bar area lighting was too bright and uninviting, otherwise we would have sat in that area. Our table was located in a nice location, but the ambiance needed music for the space.
Food was surprisingly mid though the desserts made up for any shortcomings in the earlier courses. Plus the view is unmatched. Service was spotty at best and somewhat unwelcoming at worst.

I have mixed feelings about my breakfast experience. The Conservatory positions itself as a high-end restaurant—at least the prices and the Ritz location suggest that.
Positives first: the service was excellent, the ambiance very pleasant, and the views of the Pacific Ocean and the green golf course are hard to beat. Some of the food was genuinely good—the parfait was excellent, with yogurt just right and granola not overly sweet.
The rest fell short. The $36 omelet was plain and lacked imagination. The $10 cappuccino arrived cold, with no foam—at this price point, at least one element should be right: flavor, foam, or presentation. The basket of pastries was underwhelming: three cold croissants that clearly spent the night under a press.
In sum, service and ambiance were at the expected level, but the food was inconsistent and closer to a Holiday Inn than a Ritz.

Very poor lunch. Four of us had soup, sandwiches, and salads. No desserts, no coffees...$350.00. Nuts. The food was not even good and WAY overpriced. NOT a good value. I will not return.

The service was wonderful. Unfortunately, the food was cold when it was served. We did not complain as we knew the staff was overwhelmed with the work.
I love it! This place is beautiful!
The reason I give 3 stars is because the lady who was helping me and my kids preferred to treat well to American white people. I wish she would offered us the same service that she provided to her other customers.
The food we ordered was tasteless and a bit cold.
I asked the lady for a tea and she said that they only had black or green tea I ordered it and the water was cold. I had to ask another server to bring me a warm cup of water for my tea. Later on, I saw her offering different variety of teas to another party of white people. I know that this place has Tea parties (unfortunately I couldn't afford it).
We were celebrating my daughter 17th birthday, we had a very good time even though this couple of details.
The food that we ordered was horrible but the desert (which our server didn't offered to us, we had to ask to another hostes to bring us the car and or menu).
The desert was delicious!
I'm planning to return, hopefully we get a better sever and the attention that we deserve.

Wonderful experience with the ocean view in front of you. Value for money of the afternoon tea but sandwich can be done better as few of them with the bread seems like sitting out too long that got harder and dry.
Here's a polished paraphrase with a clear, balanced tone: The space felt quite cramped, and the food was not very fresh or worth the price. The check-in staff, however, were very kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, the server was unfamiliar with the menu, and I ended up serving myself and packing my own food to go. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations of the Ritz-Carlton, especially considering the high price we paid.
This is a beautiful hotel and grounds, right on the water. They wouldn't sit us at tables by the window "reserved for tea" (at 1:30PM). The tables were empty the whole time we dined, and beyond. (I never understand places that don't treat current customers well in favor of potential future customers who don't materialize). Food was good, although we had some gripes. The $49 steak frittes looked miserable -- a small steack with some french fries, nothing else. Clearly not worth it. (We didn't order that) King salmon was excellent but just came with a small spoonful of frisee salad with no dressing (???). Shrimp coktail was very good. Desserts were excellent. Wine totally overpriced (even by the glass). Blue Moon beer bottle, $1 at Trader Joe's is $12 (plus tax plus tip). Hardly any wine bottle (even average wines) under $80-100). We paid $230 for lunch for 2 with a glass of wine each and a shared dessert. Everything on the menu is overpriced, some more, some less, and the bill is extra large. Think of it as a location tax for a beautiful hotel by the beach.
This restaurant reminded me of why I stopped going to these pretentious, so-called upscale restaurants long ago. Even with a reservation we were given an inadequate table. The food was overpriced and the ambience was lacking in warmth, joyfulness, and spirit. We were also gouged by the valet fees. Even though we can afford such a restaurant the reminder of the gap between privilege and cost was too much. Never again.
Great food and even better service!! Paul was on point!! He was up beat and had great recommendations.
