The Ocean Terrace

Vibe is amazing with the ocean views - get warm clothes and beanie! Don't expect food here if you're vegetarian who doesn't like mushrooms, only expect snacks. Food is abysmal for vegetarians who don't eat mushrooms - artichoke dip without crab had too much salt and was also charged the full amount of the dish even though we skipped the crab. Guacamole was good with chips. The gold-fashioned drink was good and so was the latte. Service was friendly.

Amazing and wonderful experience. It's 10/10! From the friendly valet to our server who went above and beyond to get us the best table with an incredible view, everything was exceptional. The food was delicious, we ordered the tiradito and guacamole, both were fantastic. We had a 3:30 pm reservation and arrived a bit early, but they graciously seated us right away. The sunset view was absolutely spectacular and breathtaking — perfect weather paired with a talented bagpiper who entertained us as we enjoyed the moment. My husband ordered Maverick's Sundae, and it was honestly the best ice cream I've ever had! Highly recommend!

Everything was great but everywhere I have gone to eat at a high end restaurant I was never asked for a credit card prior to dinning and server took long on serving or checking up on us. On top of all that I told her I was going to pay cash and had run the card before asking for actual form of payment.

Great lunch on our arrival at Ocean Terrace. Megan was a great server, very attentive. Went with oysters with sauces, Tigre de leche was a standout, as was local catch ceviche.

Lobster roll was just ok. Crab Artichoke dip and clam chowder was delicious. Jason, server was awesome! Think about where you sit, our table was right next to cart path of 18th green, which is front row ocean view, but these group of golfers parked their 2 carts right in front of us blocking the view, after their round and went and ate for most of the time we were there. Not that big a deal, but keep in mind when you get to choose. Otherwise, great experience, beautiful weather and grounds.

The waiters are so sweet and caring and the cocktails and food combined with the gorgeous views makes it my favorite place to be!

The Ocean Terrace at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay is such a beautiful spot. The views of the Pacific are incredible and make you stop mid-conversation just to take it all in. It’s the perfect place to relax with a drink and watch the waves roll in.

We ordered the seafood tower, and it was super fresh and beautifully presented. The food and drinks were really good, and the service was friendly and attentive without being over the top. Prices are what you’d expect for the setting, but the experience and view make it worth it.

We went here with zero expectations because the reviews were so mixed. We were greeted promptly by the hostess. We were early so she said we were welcome to sit at the bar or walk around til ready. We then were seated at a high top closer to the golf course and water with a large fire pit. Spectacular view. We were offered blankets to keep us warm. Jolene, our server, was so warm and friendly. She has quite the job of keeping people from randomly sitting in the open tables because they are only for reservations. We also had the pleasure of watching a wedding that was taking place in the main courtyard. The food was delicious. Try the clam chowder! At 5:00pm is the last table seating and then anyone can sit at the tables but there is no food/drink service. You must go to the bar. Also starting at 6:30 is a bagpipe player who walks around the resort at ends at Ocean Terrace. It was beautiful to listen too. We will definitely come again if we are in the area.

The food and views were great and we were actually planning to book a room with Ritz Carlton but the short asian host today messed up my date! She said that those tables or area that I requested were reserved and for guest only or with reservations. Then I found out there were no reservations at all and those white people over the area I requested were not even guest! The host were full of it. I was very disappointed. Good thing Wilfredo the server was polite and attentive but the host was unjust, unfair and judgemental... UNBELIEVABLE!

You're definitely paying for the view at a Ritz Carlton property. But on a beautiful day it's worth the cost.

Very disappointing visit, here's why: 1. Shrinkflation!! I've been coming here for years and getting the same menu items. Artichoke dip has recently halved in size for the same price - which was never good value to begin with. 2. Views are supposed to make up for it right? Due to a private event, half the high top tables in the best view area were moved to the “hotel guests only” fireplace area. Then the (already generally inhospitable) hostess wouldn't let us sit there since we weren't staying at the hotel. It's not my fault you rearranged your tables.

Beautiful spot with incredible views of the pacific coast with great casual bries well prepared. Friendly and efficient service.

We had reservation and waited 45 minutes during which they seated some walk-in people. Maybe because we are 30 years old, not 50 but we were disrespected. Hostess was rude, snooty, and no communicate.

Ceviche was so spicy, my hot sauce-loving daughter couldn't eat it. Sauce and plates for oysters forgotten by server. A flock of birds descends on food if you stop eating. Definitely overpriced. Pretty spot.

Nothing is better than sitting at the Ocean Terrace, sipping cocktails and eating a delicious meal. The burger was amazing. Our server, Kristoph was excellent!
