We came here for dinner the other night and it was ok. The service was great but the food was a little bland. We got the fajitas, a burrito, and chicken quesadilla. The fajitas were good but it was all onions and peppers and not much meat. The burrito was dry and the meat was not great. The chicken quesadilla had a strange seasoning. The chips were super hard and had no taste.

I would recommend the micheladas here made with Estrella Jalisco beer. I would not recommend the margaritas which taste like margarita mixer. I got a lunch special. My cheese enchilada was very good but my carne asada taco was not good. The rice and beans were also good. They have remodeled and the place is nicely decorated. The service was really good. I would go back but just order items I know are good.

We have been coming to El Tarasco since 2009. The food is always fabulous, and the atmosphere is festive and upbeat. The staff are always attentive and polite. I've got a food allergy and their servers always remember to modify my food order. The family behind this business has such a genuine love for what they do. They have given and continue to give to our community in so many ways. I've seen them provide a meal to someone in need, and even offer their patio to an unhoused man, so he could get out of the rain They love this small town and they truly love their customers. This is what has made us loyal customers, and we will continue our weekly tradition. We have so many choices here for Mexican cuisine, and our first choice is always El Tarasco!

Their service is horrible. I always wait 20+ minutes to get my order taken, if it's not busy. They are also EXTREMELY rude to homeless people. Although the meal is paid for, they are still made to sit outside alone to eat.

Cute downtown restaurant. Food was good; salsa had a lightly smoky, spicy flavor, and enchilada tortillas seemed to have absorbed a mildly saucy flavor. The beans were good, and rice was light and fluffy. Overall, though, a good choice. I took away one point because service was good but a little slow and because prices were on the high side for the central valley - $21.99 for shrimp enchiladas with rice and beans.

10 minutes to get drinks, to an hour to get our food, we were minutes away from walking out.I understand busy, but if you are busy your support staff should be refilling drinks, ask for more chips and salsa about 30 minutes in to our wait and was told there was an additional charge for more. Food finally came out hot, and tasted pretty good, BUT this was my second visit here with the same experience.Won't be a third!

Their food is not bad, but last weekend the staff was very unfriendly and didn’t make our party of 9 feel welcome. They acted as though we were an inconvenience and didn’t seem to care we were there to spend a good chunk of money and would have been happy to leave a generous tip. Everyone still tipped even though I thought this might be a time we should not have. We couldn’t get drinks, the servers had nothing but frowns when they did come and we pretty much had to wave our hands in the air and jump up and down to get their attention. I think that will be my last time their after going several times in the past. I guess these girls didn’t think our patronage was worth working for. The culture of this place has really spiraled into a negative atmosphere

We returned after about 4 years from trying El Tarasco. We waited about 15 mins to be seated for dinner which is not bad. We chose to sit on the bar side which was very nice and clean. I do think they could use a couple more TV's given it's the bar area. Our server was nice and attentive. I ordered the trio fajitas (chicken, shrimp, steak) with a side of house made corn tortillas which were very good. My only complaint was don't serve unpeeled shrimp in your trio! I've never had fajitas that way. Tip: add some more flavor to the meat. Other than that it was good but nothing to rave about.

I'm gonna start off by saying that I absolutely love El Tarasco. In my humble opinion. They have the best Mexican food anywhere. It also is my favorite place to eat. HOWEVER! They piss me off every time I go in there and that dining room is closed. So we have to sit in that loud bar. It's ridiculous. I got so irritated last Thursday evening that I said something to the the gal that was seating us. I should not have taken it out on her. But honestly if the food here wasn't so good I would never eat here and that's what I said to the nice lady and she really is one of the better servers there. We have been coming here for years now and we pretty much have seen the service go from pretty good to pretty bad. Lately the service has been great. But the dining room is a real issue. While we were eating there were people waiting to be seated and eventually left bcz they were tired of waiting. All because they won't open the dining area. Maybe they're understaffed? Idk. But they need to do something. We may have to avoid this place again. We have some this before and will certainly do it again.

Menudo on a Sunday is great, but what's it's done right it's even better! My fiancé had the huevos Chile verde which was equally delicious. The service is always excellent at El Tarascos, staff is helpful and kind. This one will continue to be a Hanford favorite.

The service was great and the staff was friendly. We were seated right away and they checked in on us multiple times throughout our meal. The serving size for food and drinks was good! Solid beer size! The quality excellent! The sopes were delicious but the masa wasn't thick enough for me. Lastly, the ambiance was nice. We will be back.-T&A

I am a foodie visiting Hanford from San Diego. I was very skeptical about this restaurant, however, I really wanted Mexican food and El Tarasco was one of the fiew open (outdoor dining tables). I was shocked with the quality I received. The chile rellenos are EXCELLENT (my benchmark----a fresh grilled pepper, high quality cheese, and not at all greasy). The margaritas were first-class, made in the restaurant rather than some inspid mix. They were $11 which is steep (especially for Hanford) but they are nearly twice the size of other, and they were served in a gorgeous Mexican hand blown glass. The servers were very friendly....always stopping to check if I needed anything. The only negative were the chips. They fry them there but I'm not keen on the actual tortilla they use......it didn't have a lot of flavor. This place is the real-deal winner. Bravo!
