We chose to dine at Al Watan based on a recommendation and its proximity to the airport after landing in Los Angeles. What we experienced was one of the worst meals I have ever encountered. The food was not just disappointing—it was unacceptable and potentially hazardous. We ordered the mixed grill, and it was evident that the food was not freshly prepared. The chicken was cold to the touch, the kebabs were extremely tough, and one piece of meat was so hard that we were able to knock it against the table to demonstrate to the server just how inedible it was. It was indistinguishable from a piece of dried wood. Even more concerning was the response—or lack thereof—from the staff. The individual working the register, who appeared to be the owner, completely ignored us. He refused to make eye contact or acknowledge the issue. One server did attempt to replace a few items, but by then the damage had been done. Additionally, the rest of the food was bland and poorly seasoned, completely lacking even basic salt. There was no care or quality evident in anything that was served. This was not just a bad meal—it was a deeply unpleasant and frustrating experience. I would strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant. Based on the quality of food and customer service, I cannot in good conscience recommend Al Watan to anyone. If I could leave zero stars, I would.

This place is so authentic, that the service will actually remind you of Karachi. Slow, inattentive, and sometimes rude service.
