“Hoshi Moshi is a unique hole-in-the-wall place. They serve multiple different types of food, and everything we had was excellent despite the restaurant being empty. Had a good conversation with the owner and he is very personable. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.“
“After being raised in LA for so many years. I learned that this cafe had been in Hawthorne for many years. We ordered the Frita Cubana, plátanos maduros, some pastelitos de Guayaba y Queso (Refugiados) and Pineapple. It seems as their pastries have a coconut and sugar wash to give the bits a different sweetness layer. We included each a Cortadito, which HIT the spot on a rainy afternoon. The service here was very attentive and fast in a laid back environment. I most definitely recommend this Cafe, over other competitors who have grown too big and have undermined the product. This visit took me back to my childhood being Cuban in LA and going shopping with my parents doing the rounds supporting our community.“
“Good tortas I tried the torta cubana its was big and delicious i definitely coming back to tried a different torta only reason i give them 4 stars is because their salsas aren't spicy they need to incorporate jalapeños or chiles toreados.“
“A great breakfast & brunch find at Venice Beach - Outstanding, varied menu - try the Arizona Benedict on sweet corn bread with avocados and house-made hollandaise sauce, or the chicken and waffles! Fresh and flavorful! Exceptional service and fun place for outdoor breakfast.“
“This is my second time visiting & the staff is super friendly! My first visit I called day of to get a tres leches cake and everyone loved how it tasted. My second visit I tried more of their pastries & am definitely hooked! A gem of a place and will be visiting more.“
“Service was a bit curt today, but the food delivered as per usual! It was pretty busy since they closed off Venice for bikers and pedestrians so everyone was at Versailles. There was a line for the bathroom LOL. Got to try the oxtail stew which was super beefy and rich in flavor. Favorite dish is still the lechon asado. Pro tip: ask for a side of the garlic sauce with onions to enhance any dish you get!“
“Been coming here for a couple of decades. Still delish and great service. Tried the steak salad for the first time. Incredible! The flavor of the steak was spot on and the cilantro garlic line dressing sent it over the top!Dietary restrictions: The steak salad (minus the plantains) was keto heaven!“
“Been coming here for over 40 years. I cannot find a Cuban restaurant in Los Angeles, where they make the empanizado the same as el Colmao. The service is awesome and food is great. I've been to Miami many times and neither can find an empanizado de palomillo like el colmao. I truly appreciate this restaurant and believe to be the staple of Cuban food in Los Angeles..“
“Great experience overall. I ordered pinot grigio to drink and hubby had a Negra Modelo beer. Had a small hiccup with my first wine order but the server fixed it at once!Meals are in the pic.We definitely took leftovers! Tasty and nice environment. Certainly recommend.“
“I have been coming here for years! The Ropa Vieja does not disappoint. Delicious flavors and even tastes good reheated as left overs. The Staff is always kind and professional. It can get busy during lunch due to its close proximity to the hospital but it is well worth the wait. I enjoy that it's small and quaint.“
