It was good except a lady is always super impolite to take order. Recently, the food is bad cooking. Plus how coming alway no oil rice in Hainan chicken? Then please take out your menu and call this regular chicken rice.

The food here is AMAZING. I work at the mall so i would go there for lunch every day before the mall closed due to COVID. Unfortunately when the mall opened back up they were no longer operating there. A lot of workers from different stores I met are upset about it as well. I know there are baby cafes in different places like Oakland which i'm planning on going to tomorrow but I feel like it won't be the same as having it be a small shop compared to an entire restaurant.

HK-style cafe offers really good food and drinks on the go. I first tried Baby Cafe at the Union City location and I am happy to know that this location is just a few minutes drive from me. The hainan chicken was perfectly cooked and the accompanying yellow rice completes a good, satisfying meal. Will be back for sure to try their other combo. One thing I suggest they add is to have toppings like boba with their drinks

A little food court shop with LOTS OF FLAVOR and Hong Kong style comfort dishes. The fried fish curry was amaze! Few days later and I'm still thinking about it! The hainan chicken is juicy, and the rice is a flavor bomb in my mouth. Yum! The HK milk tea is really yummy! I'd like it to be stronger so I'll request that next time. Come visit this little place and support a truly authentic Chinese restaurant. I love that Hayward is branching out more and more into ethnic foods!

Wow, I only ordered the popcorn chicken, but it was so well seasoned and delicious, and the sauces accompanying it were fantastic. It left me with such a great impression, I simply had to write a review. Nice!

It was better than Panda Express. The Baby Cafe near Union City did better than this one.

If you are looking for a quick bite in the mall, I highly recommend Baby Cafe! Their menu of entrees includes all their bestsellers and portion size is large enough to share amongst 2. I recommend their Fatty Beef Stew and Hainan Chicken. Definitely get a drink to go along with your meal! They also offer a snack + drink combo deal if you aren't too hungry. Their popcorn chicken is pretty juicy and flavorful FYI. Located next to the theater, this is a great spot to grab a quick bite beforehand. Seating is usually plentiful in the food court, even during peak dining hours. I've found my spot for an affordable meal inside the mall!

The drinks were okay. We had Thai iced tea and mango slush. Thai tea wasn’t so good and not sweet. Mango slush was OK!

*** 3.5 - 4 stars *** for the Hainan Chicken that is simple poached chicken with savory rice and accompanied with ginger/scallion and chili dipping oil...I love the simplicity of this dish and Baby Cafe cooks it perfectly so it's juicy, smooth and flavorful... Baby Cafe is a chain with locations in Oakland Chinatown, Emeryville, Alameda, Union City....and Hayward's Southland Mall food court?! Almost seems too ethnic (future hawker center?) among the fast food options as Baby Cafe is Hong Kong-style comfort food...hmm, how to describe? Many protein dishes seem smothered in gravy/sauce whether it be tomato-soup based, mushroom soup, cream of corn, curry, etc over rice or the option spaghetti/macaroni...sounds odd but popular (even with the co-workers) as it's hearty food. This location has a limited menu with boba and milk teas..meh, not my fave...nor is this mall! Fortunately, you can enter the theater-side to avoid the mall crowd...order at counter, handed a buzzer...8 minutes later it's ready to go.

If you are craving Hong Kong cafe style food, this place can definitely fulfill your craving! Their Hong Kong milk tea is strong enough. I also like their lychee green tea. I have also tried three dishes - 1. Hainan Chicken rice (which is quite decent), spaghetti with meat sauce (it's not 'baked' but the sauce is very yummy. My kids love eating it), and Curry fried fish filet (it's SO GOOD! It's definitely my fav of the three). Even my parents (born and raised in HK) approved of the food. Overall, for a food court, this food is pretty darn good. I hope this place will stay for a long time!

Love this place. So glad they opened up another solid restaurant in Hayward and especially at Southland. Solid food and solid drinks from a solid franchise!

Live the Hong King style food that I grew up with, milk tea , lemon tea red bean dessert drink and baked little egg appetizer!

Unimpressed with Baby Cafe. I ordered a beef stew, hainan chicken plate, and lemon iced tea. We were served the iced tea right away, then another 20 minutes pass, and realize they've lost our order. The cashier said they will remake it. Another 15 minutes pass, and the kitchen said they lost our order AGAIN! What?! We were the only guests on a Sunday afternoon, and a fast food run ended up taking over an hour.

This place is good but I do have 2 reservations about it, which is why it is a 3-star rating for me 1. Their food is very salty. I got the chicken wings and their sweet potato fries and it was overwhelmingly salty. And for me, I love salty food but it was a bit too much for me, especially the chicken. Every bite you can taste salt lol. 2. The pricing is a bit too much. I understand that it is in the food court of a mall which tends to have pricier food choices but I'm not sure if the price is worth it. As mentioned I got the chicken, sweet potato fries and a bottled water for $13. I wouldn't mind that but I only got 6 very small wings for about $8. Maybe the other items on the menu are a reasonable price but not the wings. So if you decide to eat here, make sure to stay hydrated. I would say, for someone who is strolling through the mall, this would be a great place for a snack. Who can say no to boba at the mall?

Good food. Cashier was new so didn't know about replacing yellow rice for regular white rice. Plus she couldn't make correct change. Other than that the food is tasty. Count your change.
