10 pieces of broccoli and a sliver of beef for my 2 item order (with steam rice). I would've said something but the woman serving the food did not look happy to be there. 1 extra star because the food was at least edible.

I come here everyday, but I’ve had complaints, I still love the place and I come in there often! After all, people who work there are super nice every time we arrive, I like to order Chow mein, spicy chicken, with shrimp and vegetables. It’s great! Keep it up! I never wrote a review before ^^ Love it!

Chef Mak Express is in a building that once was a Taco Bell years ago. offerings: chinese fast food scoop & go, Hawaiian BBQ eats: B combo, 2 entrees, with mix of chicken chow mein/fried rice (6.29) -chow mein/fried rice very salty-not very fresh, had no chicken, a few pieces of peas & carrot. tossed most of it. -most of entrees on steam table are battered and fried. -curry chicken mildly flavorful, mostly potato, dry pieces chicken -mixed veggies & shrimp had brocculi, cabbage with salty shrimp. *high sodium content as bad as the unfreshness..

Chef Mak Express- First time AND last time here. Being a Chinese(SLASH)Hawaiian BBQ you'd at least expect a combo offering from both menus. Anyways order the Beef Teriyaki, nice to see bite size pieces but the beef was rubbery and chewy. They must use a small scooper as they were not generous with the rice and mac salad. HAWAIIAN GRILL EXPRESS in San Leandro is the only place that does Hawaiian bbq right in the Bay Area. All these owners of Hawaiian BBQ restaurants should go to Hawaii and see how plate lunches are done!
