I like Crave a lot, so much that whenever we are in Hayward we plan to stop there. At 20min to closing we were 5 min away and decided to phone ahead our order for pick up - called twice in a row and no answer. Figured they were busy so went ahead and continued driving and showed up at 15 min to closing - pulled to the front door and staff locked the door in front of us while making eye contact with me. We could see through the windows there was only one table still eating - so not busy at all. Huge disappointment they don’t honor their stated closing times and also annoying they purposely ignored our calls before arriving which led us to waste more time. Couldn’t believe they were locking the door after they saw our car pull up lol smh.
Amazing food and such nice people.
Nice food.
It used to be very difficult to find a full halal sandwhich shop that has great offerings until great shops like craves opened up and my gosh. They are as great as you'd imagine . I've been going here ever since I found out they opened which was last year. The cool thing about this shop is the owner loves comic book/cartoons so you'll see many references to each item! So let's jump right into it!
Ed, edd, eddy
This sandwhich comes layered in 3 different meats. turkey , pastrami, beef salami complete with the usuals. This samdwhich is absolutely filling . The flavors compliment each other and this is the perfect sandwhich for people that love meat!
Patrick star
Fried chicken and Korean BBQ. On a sandwhich ?? Doesn't seem like a candidate for amazingness but here i am typing how great it is . The chicken is crunchy and the sauce is flavorful, maybe over flavorful which is not a bad thing !
Venom
This fantastic sandwhich is only available Saturdays
It's the only steak offerings on their menu and rightfully so. It's thinly sliced with BBQ sauce and packs a punch albeit the name venom !
Moving to the wolverine fries
This curly fries comes with fried chicken bits smothered in golden BBQ sauce and ranch . It's perfect for those that don't really want a sandwhich !
Great place to dine in. You see all the action figures, comic books, toys full on display and very quiet area .
Also the sandwhiches come in 6 or 12 inches. 12 might seem great at first but its MASSIVE so I'd say 6 inches is a safe bet unless you feel like eating sandwhich for 3 days in a row !
Sometimes it's the best, sometimes it's a wet sauce covered mess. But it's still great and I will return
I have to say this place is very much like Ike’s sandwiches. They also have all the subs named after cartoon characters which the nerd in me loves. They also have the famous Dutch crunch bread here that Ike’s and Mr Pickles have. I have to say I enjoyed the sandwich and with all the cool names it made it very hard for me to decide which one I got. I decided to get the Boondocks which was Roasted Turkey, Pastrami, Golden BBQ Sauce, Habanero Sauce, Crave Sauce. It was a very good sandwich and unlike Ike’s it wasn’t over loaded with sauce. It’s a must come back to try other sandwiches.
Craves serves up great subs and loaded fries. A must try if you haven't been. My favorite is the Ed Edd and Eddy sub.. The homemade cookies they bake are delicious as well. The owner is very kind and welcoming. They have veggie options as well if you don't eat meat.
First time tried their subs. It was very tasty and good quality. Thankful that we have a halal subs close by. Highly recommend.
Original. . . there's none like it. . . food is fire or should I say Kamehameha ? curly fries look a little overwhelming but they are on point. Not just another add add Sriracha mayo on everything kind of place. Truthfully original. . . . have order more than 5 times from this place. . . .every time. . .ON POINT!!

Ask for 1/2 or 1/4 the normal sauces. I think the Crave sauce is too sweet. They put in so much sauce that it eats like a sloppy mess. Really messy. You'll need 2-3 napkins to handle a regular. I like their food but started reducing the sauce. You can hold the sandwich up on end and let a lot of sauce leak out the end to make it more manageable. Friendly service, reliable ordering.

Sandwiches are incredible! They say they are halal, so I will take their word for it. I don't care for any of the chicken sandwiches but the pastrami sandwiches are just ?

Okay, let me just start by saying Crave Subs in Hayward is nothing short of a sandwich paradise! If you’re ever in the area and your stomach starts grumbling, do yourself a favor and head straight here. Seriously, it’s like a love letter to your taste buds!
As soon as I walked in, I was hit with this incredible aroma of fresh bread that made me feel like I had just stepped into a bakery heaven. The place has this cozy vibe, with quirky sandwich art on the walls that made me chuckle. I was immediately drawn to the menu, which is like a choose-your-own-adventure book for sandwich lovers.
I decided to go all out and try the Ed Edd Eddy sandwich, a mixed meat deli-style delight on Dutch crunch bread. I had no idea what I was getting into, but hey, fortune favors the bold, right? While I waited, I watched other customers take their first bites, and let me tell you, the looks on their faces were priceless. There were gasps, wide eyes, and even a few happy dances. I considered joining them in a spontaneous celebration, but I was too busy mentally preparing for my sandwich showdown.
When my Ed Edd Eddy finally arrived, it was a glorious sight. I’m talking about towering layers of savory meats piled high on that wonderfully crusty Dutch crunch bread. I took my first bite, and oh my goodness, it was like a flavor explosion! The combination of meats was perfectly balanced, and the crunch of the bread added a delightful texture that took it to a whole new level. I could hear angels singing in the background. I half-expected someone to hand me a ring and propose—my sandwich was that good!
But wait, there’s more! I couldn’t resist pairing my sandwich with the Wolverine Fries, which are curly fries topped with a mouthwatering assortment of toppings and sauces. As soon as I dug in, I was met with the perfect blend of crispy fries and indulgent flavors. It was like a party for my taste buds! Every bite was a new adventure, and I found myself diving deeper into the pile of deliciousness, completely lost in fry euphoria.
And let’s not forget about dessert! I capped off my meal with a chocolate chip jumbo cookie that was simply divine. It was warm, gooey, and loaded with chocolate chips—basically, the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic visit. I took a bite, and it was like a hug for my taste buds, leaving me with a big smile on my face.
By the time I finished my meal, I was in a blissful food coma. I left Crave Subs feeling like I had just experienced something life-changing. Honestly, I’m already plotting my return to try every single item on the menu, but I have a feeling the Ed Edd Eddy, those Wolverine Fries, and that chocolate chip cookie will always hold a special place in my heart.
So, if you’re ever in Hayward, do yourself a favor and hit up Crave Subs. You won’t just leave with a full belly; you’ll leave with a heart full of joy and a smile plastered on your face. Trust me, it’s worth every single star in this five-star review!

Outright amazing flavour and great portion for the price (hard to get through a regular/$14 sub in one sitting). Ingredients fresh and well balanced with tasty sauces. Service is friendly and speedy. Absolutely worth a look.
Had the meaty Deadpool, but large selection of Veg/Vegan that my companions also raved about ?
Went to Crave subs today for the Sunday special which was the speedy Gonzalez. Very good flavor. The Bay Area is lucky to have a deli that serves halal sandwiches.
