Jay's Fish & Chips

The food is great, and they have a good variety of fish types and sides to choose from. Everything from the fish, shrimp, oysters are all fresh and tasty. They also serve Korean fried chicken wings which are really delicious. Their cole slaw is okay but mostly just mayo and cabbage. Also they skimp on the fries; really tiny amount with any meal.Their restaurant lacks atmosphere but it's clean. The person who takes your order is a little short but not rude. She is just a matter of fact in personality.Overall a great little place for fish and chips. A little pricey but what isn't these days.

I lived in Hayward for 2 years from 2016 to 2018 and I would always come here..best fried fish i have ever had. I haven't been here for a few years and I am thinking of taking a trip to Hayward for a few days just for the food alone! I miss having the fish sandwich and fries..

It wasn't the greatest fried foods I've had. A little heavy for my taste.I ate at an off hour maybe better during lunch or dinner.

Parking: A little tough getting into their parking.

I had the cod with English batter, calamari, and fries for lunch. It was tasty, but unfortunately it terribly upset my tummy and ruined the rest of my work day ?

I loved the food there it was awesome. If you looking to buy an one only king meal this the place.

Got the calamari, sole, and cod. All three were good and had enough to feed six. The restaurant was clean and would love to go back.

Best fish and chips ever! The tartar sauce was delicious and “dilly”. The English breading was absolutely perfect in terms of coating, crispness, and crunch. But the fish was what really made our meal special. The fish was insanely clean tasting for cat fish(a pretty unclean tasting fish compared most establishments I’ve been too), and the cod was just as flavorful! We got our food fast and the prices were very fair considering the portions.

Food was absolutely amazing. Server was so hospitable and really attentive, easily the best chicken and fish I have ever had. The fish is remarkably clean, cleaner than you can get at some fish markets even. Combined with the essentially perfect breading and very cozy interior with sombre kpop hits playing in the background this spot makes for a more than perfect dining experience with friends or yourself.

Fish was terrific! Generous pieces of fish. Battered and fried to perfection. Delicious. If you love fish&chips, this is a great choice. I highly recommend Jay's Fish & Chips!

Huge portions. Cooked to perfection. Everything Fish and Chips is supposed to be and more. I am glad Jay's is in business and I plan on ordering again and again and again.

For the money, it was very disappointing.If it was free, it still would have been horrible!Who are these people and who told them that they can fry fish?Money totally and completely wasted.NEVER AGAIN IN LIFE!?

Great food. I get the cornmill fried fish and it is always cooked to perfection. The Korean spicy fried chicken. Is delicious as well.

Quick service and clean dining area. A bit pricey, but their fish pieces are of nice size and they give you a large amount of fries with your meal. It's better if you are purchasing in bulk to feed a large group.
