I went into Los Compadres for the first time in ~10 years yesterday. I used to go all the time growing up, but I moved. The food tastes *exactly* like I remember. The building is simple, clean, and the tables are embossed with beautiful tile.Food was great and well prepared. The same owner I remember from childhood is still working. Definitely go here if you're in Hayward and want Mexican food.

This place is amazing and has a rich history. The food is incredible, and Ignacio, our host, was fantastic. When it comes to Mexican cuisine, it can be challenging to find authentic flavors and quality ingredients, but this place nails it. Their carnitas are delicious, and their secret salsa is smoky and flavorful. If you're looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience, this is the place to go. We enjoyed a la carte nopales and carnitas with a traditional Mexican coke....
