Food is ok. This place is very dirty. Customer service is horrible. Had an expired coupon and they would not honor it. Guess they don’t need the money or the customers.

Excellent to all workers! I only came here because I was very hungry and it was close. Normally I would pick anybody just about, besides Ono Hawaiian. I've been to 3 others- Fremont hub, Decoto Rd and one other I can't remember. None of them had this great service quality or good food. Whipple Rd store, you do it right!!

Chicken katsu was not seasoned. Vegetables were soggy. Been here a few times and it's been decent. Last two times. Not so

Lately they’ve been skimping and n portions which I didn’t mind at first but today, I paid $3 for steamed rice and they gave me half a scoop of rice. Just take it off the menu if you can’t afford to serve more.

For some reason, the food presentation in this place is better than the other ONO.

Ono is my go to place to when I crave chicken katsu. The Chicken katsu here is seasoned and deep-fried to perfection. It's crispy and golden brown. Paired with tangy katsu sauce and accompanied by rice, macaroni salad and steamed cabbage. What I really love is the consistent crunch, it makes my taste buds happy. They also have mini meal option which is just the right amount of portion for me. The price is cheap too so you don't break the bank here. Give this place a try, I think you will like it.

For me? It's a last resort go to on my list! Or if I have a craving for it? Or I don't feel like cooking? It works for me. But. It's also a hit and miss. As far as the kind of service or the presentation of the food? To be more exact? The amount you get and if it's been sitting around for awhile? Again. This is my opinion? Most of the time. It's okay! I don't recommend going lay at night!

We ordered 2 plates and waited for our order.BBQ Chicken w/Mac and a combo plate, Island Fire & BBQ Chicken and everything was cold. So today, it was not a good trip to Ono's.

Title: Tropical Paradise in HaywardIf you're craving a taste of the islands and can't quite make the flight over the Pacific, then Ono Hawaiian BBQ in Hayward, California is your destination. It's as close to authentic Hawaiian cuisine as you can get on the mainland, with an atmosphere to match. The place is quaint and charming, with a laid-back tropical vibe that made me feel like I was dining beachside in Hawaii. Outdoor seating was available and I chose to eat outside. It was a glorious day and the sun made the atmosphere even more cheerful. The seating was comfortable, allowing for a delightful dining experience in the bright California sun.My selection for the day was a combo plate featuring BBQ Chicken and Island Fire Chicken, served with a side of white rice and salad. Each bite was a tantalizing blend of flavors, leaving me salivating for more. The BBQ Chicken was well-cooked, juicy, and drenched in a delightful sauce that was a perfect blend of sweet and smoky. Each bite was tender, taking me on a gustatory journey to the Pacific Islands. The Island Fire Chicken was truly the star of the combo plate. The spiciness was just right - enough to kick up the heat but not overpower the other flavors. The chicken was crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside, a testament to the culinary skills at Ono Hawaiian BBQ.The accompanying white rice was fluffy and proved to be the perfect foil to the flavorful chicken. The fresh, crisp salad added a nice contrast of textures and tastes, creating a well-rounded meal.I decided to add a side of Mac and Cheese, and it was a decision I did not regret. Creamy, cheesy, and simply delightful, it was a comforting dish that perfectly complemented the main meal. The staff was attentive, quick, and friendly, making me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The service was excellent, adding to the overall pleasurable experience.Ono Hawaiian BBQ is more than just a restaurant, it's a mini vacation to the Hawaiian Islands right here in Hayward. The combination of delicious food, sunny ambiance, and top-notch service makes it a must-visit. If you're in the area and in the mood for some ono grinds (delicious food), do yourself a favor and swing by Ono Hawaiian BBQ - you won't be disappointed.

Ono island grub. Everything is pretty good. Our usual go to meals are the chicken katsu, bbq chicken, white fish. The regular plate lunches have rice, mac salad & entree. The Aloha plate is rice, salad & 1 or 2 entrees. Spam musubi are good snacks. Saimin also delish. Service is average.

There's like three Hawaiian places located in our area says a big no to L and L Hawaiian Barbecue. But this place surprised me and many great ways. We order the two-plate mealFirst was a plate of teriyaki chicken and curry chicken, and the house salad. My husband ordered the chicken teriyaki and beef plate with macaroni salad and a side of rice. I have to say it was amazing!!! It was the best Hawaiian food. I think I've come across this in a very long time. The closest to our tip is authentic. The macaroni salad wasn't overly dressed this dressing and sauce for both chickens were perfect and the house salad was the bomb. Will be going back soon.
