The best Szechuan food in the East Bay! Must try LaZiJi(spicy chicken), the most valuable portion, tastiest, most tender inside and crispy outside lovely bites of chicken ever. The chef is a culinary master from China. The owners are super friendly, always make you feel welcome, definitely a hidden gem in Hayward, where good food is scarce.

Oh how much I love oily, greasy and spicy Chinese food. This place is our guilty pleasure. We always get the chilli chicken and fried rice and it never disappoints. Have always ordered in, so can't comment on the service or ambiance

The service is a bit odd ordering off the QR code and them bringing a massive tablet to you to get your payment. I am a bit old fashioned I suppose but I didn't like that I didn't get even a confirmation of the order and you just wait hoping it comes :). The place is got good tasty food. Kinda got a weird vibe from the older woman in the place who actually insisted on a 25% tip. She even selected it for us. So funny. A bit strange is all. My only complaints were that the tea was cold, then super hot. Haha. The food is not so cheap as I would have expected for this area but all prices are generally going up. I wouldn't say it's close to my favorites. I might come back there though.

Everything here is delicious! Once you're seated, you scan the QR code to order. They offer complimentary tea and roasted peanuts while they're preparing your food. My favorites are the wontons in chili oil sauce, salt and pepper fish, and dry fried green beans. The oil/broth from the wontons is delicious and goes well with any leftovers you end up with. I was impressed by how the fish stayed crispy for takeout, but it's even better eating at the restaurant.

I want to give this place 3.5 stars. I really wanted to like it because of the feel of a mom-and-pop spot. The lady who helped us was super nice and accommodating. The food came out pretty fast even though they were super busy. Ordering is great as they have a QR menu. Service grade: AThe food was overall decent. I would say some dishes came out a bit too oily. The eggplant in garlic sauce may have been the best thing that we ordered. As always when trying a new spot, I always overorder to try more things. We ordered hot and sour soup, pan-fried pot stickers, wontons in chili oil, shrimp chow mein, and a broccoli beef lunch. The food could have been seasoned more and the hot and sour soup wasn't very sour or spicy. Food grade: COverall this place had a nice vibe. I am hoping we just caught them on a bad day when they were rushed. Overall grade: C+

Parking is a little tough, but what a great find! They're not shy with the heat and I love that about the food here. Service is a breeze, especially with ordering by QR code. It was quiet here on a Friday afternoon.Recommended:- stir fried shredded potato- boiled fish with szechuan pickles - chili fried chicken- Chengdu cold noodlesEven the free pickles that come when you're seated were delicious.

Went here based on reviews but the tooth pick lamb and spicy fried chicken were just disappointment. Both dishes had chunks of deep fried flour and the lamb had full of fat pieces. Couldn’t eat anything,

This is a great local gem. The parking is limited to street parking. The interior and furnishings were clean and modern. I was pleasantly surprised by the cute design and the effort made to make the restaurant cozy and stylish. My party of three shared the following:The sour chili beef sliced soup ($19.95) which was our first time having something like this; it has a slightly sour taste and an great heat in a dish with no visible chilies. The meat was a bit tough but the bamboo and the noodles were great. I am not a fan of bean sprouts and could do without them but overall a pretty good dish. The wontons in chili oil sauce (10) ($9.95) was my favorite dish. The wontons had a nice thin skin and they had a great texture and flavor. It’s much lighter than other chili wonton dishes I’ve had previously. I think because of the exclusion of sesame paste. Not spicy to me at all.We also got the fish fillet in hot chili oil ($18.95) and it was lovely. I was impressed by the large pieces of fish fillet and the amount provided. Usually when I order this dish elsewhere it’s not as nearly as abundant. There is still a lot of napa cabbage and bean sprouts underneath the fish for those that like that part of the dish. The spice wasn’t overwhelming. To round out the meal, we got the bok-choy with black mushrooms ($12.95). It was perfectly seasoned and a great palate cleanser. If you’re looking for the extreme mala spice or spiciness, you might have to ask them to make it spicier, but for me it was perfect. My mom thought it was a bit too spicy and my brother thought it wasn’t spicy enough. Our total was $86.99 including tip. A great price for the amount of food. We had plenty of leftovers and they wrapped it up for us which always makes the dining experience much better. Though friendly, the staff is sometimes all in the back at once so don’t be shy to say ‘excuse me’ loudly to get what you need. I would come back if i was in the area.
