There's street parking available and there's also parking available behind the building or una parking garage diagonal from the bar. Friday and Saturday nights is when it usually gets busy and they have a DJ. All other days/hours it's usually calm and can go grab and drink and chat with friends. The place is big and lots of areas to sit and grab food in the restaurant they have inside. They also have a nice small outdoor patio for when the weather is warmer. I prefer going when it's not packed and grabbing a drink and food.

Hang with friends multiple times here. The food is pricey and not a lot of portions. Drink is expensive, the space on the inside is decent enough and ok r & b music. This the only spacious bar in Hayward. Fights happen here and police would pull up sometimes.

I heard about coach's termination as he reached out to me personally informing me that he had been fired. Coach has been the most sweet and protective security guard at dirty bird. When my friends and I would go he made sure we were always taken care of. Coach knew the demographic of some type of people and made sure to keep an extra watchful eye on ALL OF THE women. There has been many occasions where if anyone felt uncomfortable or someone was disturbing the group he would check in and speak to them respectfully. COACH HAS NEVER BEEN A INDIVIDUAL OF VIOLENCE. I am prompting the owner to really consider what injustice he has committed. Fired with out notice and an unjust cause for doing his job protecting the peace in the establishment.I will not be returning until coach is reinstated as a security guard. If I am going to be honest the other security guards would be distracted and not do their job. Coach was a real gem to the community and I implore the owner to know that there will be many more reviews and negative feedback knowing a vital part of the dirty bird has lost its light.

This is not a safe space for women. My friend and I have been coming since before the pandemic and it's so sad. They do not give a single S H I T about creating a safe space for women. I've given feedback a few times and no one seems to care. My friend and I left tonight because they closed the outside space even though they didn't close for another 2 hours. If you are looking for a male dominated all male security who don't care about you club space. This is for you. They have good food. But my friend took our food across the street to stein lounge. I asked if they have another space besides yelp to share feedback and they said no. So I hate to do this but someone needed to say it.

Dirty Bird has been and still is my favorite local bar. However, I recently heard Coach, or Junel, was let go for unjust reasons. Coach has made me and my friends felt safe and welcomed at this establishment for so many years. He has everyone's best interest at heart and goes above and beyond to keep us safe. It saddens me that he was let go. He does not deserve this kind of treatment after all he has done for this business. Please please please reconsider. We need Coach!

The dirty bird was always home for me. Great drinks, good food, and decent music. Who you employed is what kept me coming back though. Which is why it was a surprise to find out that the Coach had been unjustly let go. He wasn't just a security guard, he made every person feel like family the way he protected that place like his home. He prioritized the safety of each person that walked through those double doors! There were plenty of nights where creeps would approach me and Coach would see the uncomfortable look on my face and immediately remove them. Bring Coach Back!!!! I've always loved going to dirty bird because the vibes are always right. The music is great and the staff is so friendly. One thing I've loved more is how safe I felt and it's because Coach always had security in check to ensure safety for everyone. I was so saddened and disappointed to hear that you let a staple on your team go. How? Anyone who knows coach knows he will always make you feel safe and comfortable. No, me and my friends returned because of a particular bouncer you had. That guy is and was so damn friendly and welcoming it felt like you were stopping by to have some drinks and chat it up with family. Coach takes care of people and their safety first and foremost. My second time at this establishment someone put something in my drink...yeah! That's the kind of place this is. I'm Not a drinker and I was two drinks in when all of a sudden I started blacking out. I asked my friend I was with to take us home but of course he was pretty hammered but not from whatever got me as he actually drank. Coach not only refused to let us drive home but he literally waited for me to stop being sick and personally drove us home. That's the kind of guy you let go. Do your establishment a favor and bring him back!!!

Went at around 8pm and it's Tuesday. Now that I say that I just realized they did not have taco Tuesday happening. We pulled onto a cute little downtown street lit up with lights. Pulled right into a parking spot. The front of the establishment is dark and looks closed as well as having a company name that starts with a V...turns out it's the coffee shop down the street went out of business??? Anyway, you walk in to a dark area being used as storage then walk thru this cool tunnel like barrel wall into Dirty Bird. There is a young security guy that is really tall scanning id's that is really nice and friendly. It is a HUGE open space and very cool and trendy. Brick wall. Black ceiling. Industrial style lighting. Lit up wall of bottles behind the bar. The seating and tables look handmade industrial looking. I absolutely love the loooooong benches. The brown vinyl gator looking material is perfect for the style of decor in a bar/eatery bec it's an easy wipe up without damaging...There's a little kitchen area off to the side that offers a lot of options. We got nachos, honey garlic wings, and mushroom empanadas. The mushroom empanadas were dry and overpowered by the other items stuffed with the mushrooms so I would not recommend them. My hubby liked it all except the mushroom empanadas as well. We didn't even touch one of the 2 we bought. Those are $6 each. I thought the nachos could have been made better. All of the cheese was melted in the middle instead of spread all over. The chips were hard and plain probably overcooked to my liking. We heard they are building an upscale speak easy in the basement, which is really smart considering they drew in over 600 people last weekend just to dance and socialize. Great place! I'd recommend Dirty Bird to hang out, dance, listen to music, drink, and there is food. One MAJOR need, especially with the Speakeasy coming...REMODEL THOSE BATHROOMS! They are dirty and very dive bar looking. You should use wood boards to conceal the metal stall"s side walls. Paint the doors black and hang baroque style full length mirrors on the outside of painted doors or hang a super large one on the wall across from the stalls. Paint ceiling black. Hang little glass chandeliers over each stall. Okay I'm getting carried away. You can definitely do a better diy to the bathrooms though ;-)
Been coming here for years now and will always love it down to the security guards, Junel aka Coach is the best and has made DB safe for us. Bring him back!

Nice space. margarita nicely mixed, good selection of beers. Tail Feather is the name of the kitchen they have. Tacos are probably the best thing to order.

YALL WRONG FOR WRONGFULLY TERMINATING COACH, He was the only security member of the team who made me and my friends feel safe. Not only did he make coming to the establishment a warm welcome fun environment, he held his position with honor and had the most respect for any individual coming there. I always felt happy to bring new comers there cause I knew we would be in good hands, if he will not be there anymore I don't know when I will come back. It was always a fun time but safety in a bar filled with alcohol and occasional trouble needs to be rightfully controlled, and Dirty bird just got rid of the environmental control factor. Shame on them.

The dirty bird the been our fun friendly neighbor for some time now. What makes a successful entertainment business it's not the place but the employees, I have always felt safe bc I have seen about 3 familiar faces every time I go. I'm extremely exasperated that one of them has been let go by the manager.... It's unfortunate to see an employee go when all he's done has been to commit to his job by providing safety! I had a drunk touch my ass as he was walking by and the first thing I did was to look for Lenuj I call the coach and he immediately removed him for he was also drunk. Lenui is not just a dedicated security guard but also a friendly welcoming person. He is one of the most valuable employees, he has dedicated a lot to this place for years and it's unfair he is being treated like this. I don't ever want to take a step in that place until he is back! He was let go unprofessionally, the manager violated his rights as a senior employee.

Coach always made my friends and I feel safe when he was around and always made sure that we were good. He continuously made sure the environment around us was safe and is truly a staple member of the community! Definitely won't be the same without him. Please bring him back!!!!
