A Hayward classic. Not a throwback to times of yore, but a place where someone can immediately feel like a regular. A welcoming, warm entryway opens up into a cozy bar, with a private dining room on the right and a seemingly endless dining room to the left. The staff hustles, the drinks are plentiful and the food is solid. Strangely, all the photos are of the space and not the food, but considering all the history covering the walls, it was tough not to get distracted. Pictured...
It was the same as when I was little. I think the corn was out of a can. The salmon was delicious. They will be closing for good on December 31st. So I just wanted to get a taste of my childhood.
I drive by this place almost daily and finally decided to give it a try. The decor is old and rustic like you’d expect. The service and food were both pretty good. I would definitely eat there again.
