Only for Togo bento box. It gets sold out quickly

Fulldistance Going

They only serve bento boxes to go. There is no info about them NOT serving in house. We drove there for nothing.

Hello! Today I was at Hayward, and decided to stop by this restaurant. I'm from Oakland. I am glad I stopped by here! It's a location now that is only for take out and they have 1 bento for the the day, and it changes every day(?) And they will run out, so make sure to call ahead to have them save one for you. I look forward to being back. Thank you! :)

Mom and pop (literally) Japanese restaurant with very authentic dishes! Very cozy spot and they don’t have that much capacity, so reservations beforehand!

Our party of 4 walked in and the waitress told us we can wait 30 minutes for a table so we stood waiting at the entrance of the restaurant. Around 5 minutes later, a party of 2 came in and waited in line behind us. The female owner came out and then asked us if we had a reservation. We told her we didn’t and that the waitress said we could wait for a free table. Instead she told us to leave and that the kitchen is full which didn’t make sense especially since 2 tables already got their bills, were paying, and about to leave. I said that the waitress told us we could wait 30 minutes and she yelled at the waitress “Why did you tell them 30 minutes?”. The waitress then said “I told the party of 2” which is blatantly untrue because as stated earlier when we walked in it was just our party of 4 waiting and she told us we could wait. The female owner then kept saying the kitchen is full and instead talked to the other party of 2 who didn’t have a reservation either but said they can seat them. We asked if we could split our party since she kept saying they had space for 2, and she just kept shooing us away saying “No”, “No”, “No” multiple times. Extremely unprofessional, not friendly, would not recommend this place at all. Not even sure if it’s due to racism, because our party was 3 asians and 1 caucasian, but definitely not a good “mom and pop” shop like everyone else claims.

Classic old school hole in the wall restaurant. Very unassuming from the outside and warm and welcoming on the inside. Food was some of the best classic dishes I've had in Cali. I highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Japanese food.

I meant to post this review earlier, as I make trips to California often & want to remember which places are yummy, but had gotten busy! Back at the end of July, my boyfriend and I found this wonderful restaurant. It’s a small place, but very cozy! We both had ordered lunch sets and I had enjoyed the Kara-age & gyoza set. Off to the side of my picture is the agedashi tofu. Not pictured was the miso soup I had which came with it. It was all fresh/super delicious! Everything was crispy, but still juicy inside. I felt fulfilled after eating all the food. Definitely will come to support again~

A hidden gem in Hayward. Great service. Very laid back atmosphere. There are only 4 or 5 tables and 4 seats at the sushi bar. I highly recommend making reservations. They're only open for lunch and dinner.

The food was good! The fish we had was fresh and melted in our mouths. I recommend the chirashi bowl. There were plenty of fish for $22. I think everything was reasonably priced. They weren't trying to price gouge on anything.

Miso soup tells all. Red miso and deep flavor. I felt like my (first gen mom and dad) ran the restaurant.

Don’t judge the outside. Very clean inside and good service and food. Try it!

I ordered the bento box, and my wife ordered a philly roll. My sashimi was cut with a butter knife because they still left the flim of the skin on, which made it chewy. It wasn't a perfect rectangle but cut like it was the scrap. Very small and cut in several spots. Fish quality was great, though. My wife roll was also as if they used the scraps of the fish and it tasted sour, not like lemon but something else. My wife threw up 20 mins after we left. I'm not sure why they were targeting us because the tables around us got such wonderful looking rolls and sashimi. I am Korean, and I don't want to say it was a race thing, but I got a feeling it was...
