Our reservation was for a Tuesday evening. The winter salad was very good, but both our entrees were good, but not great. Mine was trout with a strange mix of grains and vegetables, and the fish was over cooked.
Although the presentation is nice, the unifying theory of pretty much everything from starters through to mains, was lack of flavor. I’m not a heavy salt user (that’s the Mrs. and she wasn’t even present) and I appreciate subtle flavors, but pretty much everything lacked umami. Although the duck confit portion of my dish was done well, the vegetable medley it was served with was bland, and the kabocha squash was almost raw. Thursday early evening stop before an event @ The 222 was a delight. Food was perfect for quick, light meal b/4 a show & service were attentive & personal. Good cocktails. Will definitely return & have told friends this is a great spot to start an evening in Healdsburg.
